I used to play that loads when I was a child. I remember having to shoot what looked like snowflakes coming at you.

I had the home version for the Atari 5200. It was a fun game.

I used to play this on PC a lot, I think at school. Good times.
A local arcade had it in a sit-down arcade cabinet (as discussed here), but it was perpetually out of order.

For the uninitiated, this is what it's all about:

    Stay on target...

While I did not play this particular game, I did love "X-Wing" and "X-Wing II: Rebel Alliance" a whole lot. Also, random video game fact, this game reminded me of TIE fighters and the hero ship on the box looked like an X-Wing:

Love that game. My biggest Star Wars white whale merch is the original cockpit version of this game. Only $7500 on eBay!

My wife would LITERALLY kill me.

Ah Space Spartans! Those were the days. A buddy of mine had an Intellivision with tons of games. Good times!

Enjoyed playing this at the arcade a lot. Ended up getting Starstrike 3d (which was fairly similar) on the spectrum when it came out.

Our local Game World had the sit down version when it was new (1983 and beyond). I pumped lots of tokens into that one.

Is that the actual original cabinet, or one of those new mini-ones you can get at Wal-Mart?

It's the one at Walmart, but although a little shorter and has almost a full size controller and screen. And it comes with a rise or so you can stand up and play it.

I have to admit, I've found a couple of those tempting myself, especially the Ninja Turtles one.

What a difference a couple years makes. I remember the SW arcade game well, but can't remember the ESB one at all.

I graduated in 1985 and straight to the Navy, so I went from teenager who had time to go to the arcade to "not so much". The game probably came and went fast as they were making much nicer looking stuff by that point.
