Time for a New Forum?

There is no reason not to. As it is now this sub forum is useless for talking about future movies or other trek things.

There is no need for a std forum before it's here. As it is now, std is simply the future of Star Trek and should be treated as such. A std forum would just be full of guessing and speculating.

The show exists and we're talking about it. There's no reason for there not to already be a designated forum for it. Leave the Future of Trek for the future of Trek beyond the new project that exists.

To say that a project like std "exists" is really pushing it. As long as we don't even know the cast it's simply the future for Star Trek.

Maybe. But that one is also farther off and doesn't have a name or the anticipation yet or anything.

Well, and when we know the cast it's still “simply the future for Star Trek”. The forum “Future of Trek” is supposed to be about theories and wishes about unconfirmed Trek productions. DIS has a name, a date, producers, writers and a ship – it's a confirmed Trek series. It should have its own forum.

Well, it kind of does, as the name of that forum is Star Trek Movies XI+

I think the question is why isn't there already a forum for it? When it was first announced as a reality it deserved its own topic page as this is huge for Star Trek fans.

I run a forum. I know it takes about 30 seconds to create a subforum... So I expect to see it by the time I hit Post Reply...

I imagine there's also the matter of coming up with a descriptive catchphrase for a series about which we know so little. Currently the closest thing this show has to a catchphrase is "OMG, that ship is hideous!"
