Tiermaker Ranking - The RTD2 era

So I was watching Josh Snares' videos, and I decided to make my own list of the Doctors' seasons on TV and I decided to also share my own ranking of the RTD2 era so far, encompassing the now two former Doctors, 14 and 15. And here it is:

My order isn't wildly different to yours, except for when it is.

Devil's Chord was such a hard watch that I gave up and left the room. Wish World has no story. It really puts me off when a series strays outside of its established reality, so The Story & the Engine goes straight to the bottom tier and any other episodes about people turning into stars, fighting Pantheon gods, or flying off in magic memory TARDISes go down with it. Well, except for 73 Yards which was too damn good to fall far. Star Beast goes down a tier because the roads magically get repaired at the end.

I mean c'mon there's a giant robot spider walking around on a web, in space, on journey to cut off the gods of storytelling and end humanity's ability to tell stories. That is absolutely insane and should NEVER have been allowed in a Doctor Who episode. I am legitimately surprised that people aren't bothered by this.

I don't have to justify my top row at all. I was sure Interstellar Song Contest would be unbearable so that earned extra points for being a huge relief. Stories like The Well and Lucky Day I thought were fine, and would be comfortably mid-tier in any season. Reality War was all nonsense and exposition, but moments like the Doctor and Belinda folding the coat, and the Doctor's last chat with Poppy elevate it for me.

I genuinely struggle to know if this is ironic.

Doesn't seem like you enjoyed the era at all, or wanted to.

I mean, as one of those fans, I saw The Dæmons and clearly a lot of THAT should NEVER have been allowed in what Doctor Who previously established during the Hartnell/Troughton eras, but here we are. Heck, even stuff like Kinda feels like nothing Pertwee or Tom Baker would handle, but, again...

I wish that I had enjoyed it!

Though ironically, I think my frustration with it actually helped at the end, as I seem to have liked The Reality War a lot more than some people. I'd given up on anything getting a good payoff, I knew Omega would be a big CGI waste of time and Belinda's character was going nowhere, so the whole Poppy story arc actually worked for me.
