Ticks on cats. (Give me a straight answers)

If there's nothing that I can do about it....I will have no choice, but to put them in sleep.

Damn it!

What do you want me to do about it?! I can't afford to have my new place all over with ticks!

I thought you were leaving the board, and with comments like that, I really wish you had.

You are either putting on a fake personality and purposely trying to antagonise people with comments like those, or you really do think like that. Either way, you are a prick. A monumental prick.

I expect I'll be warned in due course.

One infraction has been issued to you for flaming for this post.

Comments to PM.

Now I'm saying it. Drop it.

If you feel this strongly about it, feel free to PM me about it. That goes for the rest of you too. Let's leave this side discussion out of the thread.

Supreme Admiral, curing a case of fleas/ticks by euthanizing the cat?!? :wtf::wtf: That's like fixing a minor plumbing leak by knocking your house down. Overkill man, overkill.

Talk to your vet. He/she will know how to fix this problem. Once it's fixed, there's nothing that says that you cannot simply keep them indoors in the new place (which probably should be done until they become acclimated anyway).

Looks like I will send my cats to spend a night or a week to take care of a problem that you just talking about. I'm just being concerned pet owner here.

As a previous pet owner, it concerns me deeply any owner would simply have their pet put to sleep to cure their owner's living situation.

Show of hands from fellow current & passed pet owner: how many of you would do that?

Supreme Admiral: you need to be extremely cautious, though, that you do not allow concern and worry to lead you into recklessness--because the course of action you initially suggested (that the proper response to the tick problem was to have your pets killed) would indeed be quite reckless. And that is a massive understatement.

Supreme Admiral, the outside cats are they strays you have take up with or actual cats that you adopted/bought, etc.?

The words, cold-hearted, inhumane, cruel, all come readily to mind.

Concerned pet owners do not consider putting cats down because they have TICKS.

I just lost my beautiful cat because she was ill and suffering. That's when you put a pet to sleep- not for ticks, which can easily be taken care of.

If your cats are precious to you, you wouldn't even THINK of putting them down for such a lame reason.

I was going to suggest that you give your cats away to someone else if whatever the Vet suggests doesn't work. But now I'm going to suggest giving them away right now. I think you'd be better off not taking care of cats.

Very strongly seconded. Please find someone else who can care for these cats.

If I really get myself started--trust me. It won't be pretty.

Really? You know the moment you suggested putting down your cats this thread was all over. What are you thinking??? As a result we have an infraction and other building hostility. And who can blame them??? Sorry, I ain't buyin' this nonsense and I'm putting your thread to sleep before anyone else finds themselves warned because of it.
