I say they shouldn't ever use Nimoy or Shatner in anymore movies, this was a great TRANSISTION movie, now let all the movies that follow stand on their own feet.

The movie was probably better off without Shatner in it. I know the film is supposed to be a reboot, but its a reboot explainable by the other main series (that sounds weird doesn't it lol). This being the case, Shatner died and it would be too contrived to bring him back alive.

Plus, I think its a nice touch just having Spock Prime in the film, as it parallels his attempts to re-unify the Vulcans and Romulans in the TNG timeline and shows what happened to that mission of his.

Having spock allows this to be connected to the old trek, and at the same time provide a transition into the new trek. Now let it stand on its own feet.
