Hell yeah!!! My hopes for this are firmly placed after seeing that!!
Jane's sidekick had, what 3 lines, in that trailer? I'd hardly call that a lot.
Those are not shoddy f/x JA, it's fine if you aren't interested in the movie but those are not shoddy effects. No doubt though even more enhancing/tweaking is still going to be done seeing as it's still 3 months out. If any movie needs F/X redemption it's Green Lantern.

I had thought this wasn't going to debut with Battle: LA in March, or is that Captain America? Seems tightly placed after the Super Bowl slot that's why I was sure it was 3/11 with B:LA.

The trailer did a good job I thought of finally placing a narrative out there for Joe X to place into context of the "money shot" trailer from before.

This new trailer tries too hard. It has some great epic shots, intermingled with embarrassing character moments (razzie worthy acting from the ladies), and then they decide to end the trailer with a money shot of the worst effect by far in the entire trailer. I cannot believe they put that in the trailer, it is that bad of an effect. Why end it on such a sour note???

This trailer is definitely on par with the Green Lantern trailer. Awesome :techman: mixed in with WTF!?!. :wtf:

The special effects look pretty bad in that trailer. I can just imagine those characters running on a sound stage with a green screen behind them.

The action looked great though the character moments not so much. Should be pretty epic once it's completed.

I thought it was a pretty awesome trailer. I'm starting to dislike Kat Dennings character, Darcy and not just from her lines in the trailer either. She just doesn't work for me. The Frost Giant they showed kind of reminded me of Thanos in design.

I think it looks great. I must admit, the idea of setting it mostly on Earth did make me think nervously of the Masters of the Universe movie. I would have preferred a movie mostly set in Asgard, with Thor coming to Earth at the end - not unlike the way Captain America looks likely to be mostly WWII set, with a coda in modern days. But ultimately, it's all about execution and this looks much better executed than the MOTU movie.

I am getting a much better vibe off this film than I am off of Captain America. The Destroyer armor looks dead on perfect. I could always do with a little less humor but Marvel seems to think it works. I may break my theater ban to see this one.

Looks like Hemsworth has the same trouble at doing accents as Sam Worthington. The footage we've seen of Thor and Captain America really drives home how immensely tricky Whedon & Co's task is going to be in putting all of these characters on screen together in a way that seems natural.

The Captain America and Green Lantern trailers both have me wanting to see the movies; they're good. This trailer is lamer than the earlier Thor trailer, which is not good.

I kind of like the young female character who's on about posting Thor's picture online, etc. At least she's humorous.

Obvioulsy tastes vary but how is this second trailer "lamer" in your opinion.

The first trailer was essentially fully of action sequence money shots. Little to go on for Joe Average who needs to know about the character and story.

This second trailer delivers a narrative and shows some energy of the characters.

It just seems you're wanting to stick to your guns on not liking it for some reason(s).

Somewhat right and mostly wrong.

The teaser is as you described - a teaser - but while the visual design of the thing was cheesy at least it was put together competently and it presented the leads attractively. To use your words, it "showed some energy."

The new trailer tries to deliver a narrative, but that narrative is thuddingly unimpressive. As others than I have noted, many of the effects look cheap and there is very, very little drive or "energy" to it (other than the video-gamish fire coming out of the giant's head). In many ways this presentation is more disjointed than the quick cuts in the teaser, and the flaws of the film are more evident.

Hemsworth's accent is worse than it's been described.

Has any other Oscar nominee made as many missteps in her big year as Portman has this year? What happened with that dreadful romcom of hers?
