Tom ends up on 3189, via cryo pod. Have ST: Picard do a time trip back to one of the TNG episodes, and Riker shows up to rescue his old friend. Have Lower Decks revisit a TAS episode, and have Frakes do some voice work in that, and have him cameo in Prodigy as well... one Riker to rule them all!
Oh my God, like they're both taking turns pretending to be "Will Riker," like in "the Prestiege?" I've just added that option to the poll. I love it.
The Prestige is Star Trek canon, and shows us the original invention of the transporter, before they realized they needed to vaporize the original during every transport.
Went to Cardie prison. On first interrogation said "yep 5 lights whatever you say boss" and the Cardassians true to their word let him go. He now plays jazz for a living but ONLY to blondes because he is still trying to be different The End
Yeah, Will and Laren hooked up once in the past, and Laren really liked it, but never told Tom about why she was drawn to him out of fear that Tom would never go where Will had gone before.
I think Tom escaped and killed Will after First Contact. Deanna figured it out, but she doesn't give a damn, so she never told anyone. Evidence: Tom shaved the beard in Insurrection. He was always more of a Before-The-Beard Riker. Tom hooked up with Deanna first chance he got. "We're through running from these bastards!" is an unprofessional line Will would never use on the bridge. Tom took the first promotion he could get, both to advance his career and to get away from the Enterprise, where his deception might be noticed. He took his co-conspirator Deanna with him though. Tom couldn't remember the tune 'Pop goes the weasel' Data whistled, during the funeral. Who could forget that? Answer: Tom, because Will only mentioned the android whistling in his personal log, but not which tune. Every scene with semi-demented Riker in Lower Decks. 'Nothing would make me happier than an excuse to kick your Tal'Shiar ass' - another quote Will wouldn't say, but Tom absolutely would.
Also in Picard when putting his house on lockdown he didn't say "shields up, Red alert" instead saying something about arming deflectors
He says "Shields up, perimeter scans to max". Why would he say "red alert"? There's nobody to alert, they're all there...
By 2399, "Tom" would have lived as "Will" for going on 26 years, longer than the four years or so as "Tom". Nothing can wipe away those eight years on Nervala, but that's a distant memory for him, and he will have accomplished his life goals, retired with Deanna and formed a family. It also might be related to why he gravitated to "William" Boimler, the transporter clone like himself who changed his name. "Will" might be a little put off by someone else having a transporter clone, and maybe become more distant... but "Tom" understands the trials and tribulations of being a transporter clone, with everyone seeing the supposed original as better, and losing prestige and ranking, and might want to counteract that with "William", growing closer as officers through shared experiences.
I know what I done for my 2 weeks of self isolation and my months and months of lockdown so I don't think any man would ever get over what he done for 8 years alone
And he fell for it. He was vapor before he hit the tarmac, as it were. If your enemy knows you have a potential double agent…he is of no use to turn…unlike Shinzon. After all—he might be Will as a triple agent, Thomas Riker having died in a boating accident for all I know. Not happening. “Such a tragic transporter accident…” Gul such-and-such says, disruptor behind his back having discharged a moment earlier in front of a crewman to be disciplined for not keeping his lane and being dumb enough to think Thomas was to be imprisoned: “Now then…where were we? Oh yes…”
