This was fun, very close flyby

Awesome video; this is the fun part of being a fan. It really showcases the immensity of the "D" too. Not since TMP has there been such a rewarding close-up either. Even for CGI, there's a tangible quality I can't complain about (drat).

The bottom half of the Oberth saucer; are the lights around the dome supposed to indicate windows to look out of? Otherwise, the scale is jaw-droppingly good. Oberths were, what, 12 decks or so?

The Oberth itself looks like the Jupiter 2 picked up by a set of designer tongs (complete with that annoying anti-pinch clasp thingy in the middle) that only someone in the 1960s could imagine. With a little chemical help, of course. There must also be turbolifts in the nacelle pylons or else nobody could get to the shuttle bay-with-impractically-impressive-door. Or it's a scoop for picking up nebula gasses, which makes more sense given it's officially a science vessel...

I think Oberths are basically the bridge, maybe a lab or two, the engineering pod and small quarters for the crew.
Never looked I to a tech manual, but I would guess, they have no more than 30 people aboard.
The Defiant seemed beefier.

Edit: I checked and they apparently have a standard compliment of 80.
that seems a lot for such a tiny ship.
