This is probably very sensitive....

Was doing some work on Ancestry, and taking a break - which means I was browsing, seeing what i could find what they have n various famous/semi-famous peple. I looked some Trek people up, and shockingly came upon this item I found. It's some pretty upsetting news about the passing of a certain behind the scenes icon. This person, beloved by all who are very cognizant of the inside story, officially contradicts the given story. Mods, if you feel this is too shocking, I will understand this thread being taken down. This person had a serious illness he passed away from, according to the news reports.
Finding this was shocking, as you realize what pain they must have been going through..

It’s Robert Justman’s death record from the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

Healthy caution. :)

But yes, I wonder if this has been reported before. The wiki page says he died of "complications of severe Parkinson's disease" which I guess might still be technically true in a very dark way. Poor Bob. :(

The Parkinsons is what's truly tragic. I have personal family experience with it, so I know. Choosing not to suffer it any longer is not the tragic part.

I applaud caution, but the OP could have at least noted that the birth and death dates match between the record on the page and Justman's public information.

Stanley Adams commited suicide by shooting himself in the head back in 1977! I only found that fact out this morning although I knew he died many years ago. By ill health I'd always thought but there you go!

Yes, maybe you're right but it was a bit of a shock to see it written like that as well I guess!

There's no good excuse for this, but for years I thought that Roger C. Carmel had killed himself, and it wasn't true. I must have heard about Adams and somehow replaced him with Carmel in a fumbled act of memory.

Didn't Roger C.Carmel pass from what was called back then a massive heart attack? He was the same age as I am now so I'd better watch myself with the pizzas, the cakes and the like...

A fast google search of Robert Justman and suicide only brings up this BBS thread. No other mentions of suicide on the first page.

Multiple mentions of the cause of death being complications of severe Parkinson's disease.
