This incarnation of the enterprise is present on these two Japanese Star trek Books, though, despite this being TOS, Toru Kanamori's take on the constitution class ship is rather . . . interesting to be the least.

The perspective and proportions are somewhat off though.

Has someone tried to model this in 3d though? It looks like something Warped9 could do.

It reminds me of the old "Best of Trek" books where apparently the cover artists either couldn't use the actual Enterprise or they just decided to make their own artwork:

no offense, those renditions look extremely ugly and actually go against Matt Jefferies' design philosophy of having a smooth surface instead of equipment sticking out of the hull

Why would I take offense? It's not my art. And I'm sure the artists had no idea who Jefferies even was, much less his design philosophy.
