Things you remember from when you were younger?

I don’t remember Rax’s, not even in Cincinnati. I remember when there were still Hardee’s and Friendlys in Cincinnati.

Lots of traumas in childhood --- I am in a 12 step program I go to everyday at least once to deal with said childhood traumas that have lasted and affect my daily life today-- so It is great to remember the good times but always it really was almost never good--

Chemistry sets for kids may not be as popular as they used to be, but they are definitely still being sold, by the company Thames and Kosmos for one. They even have one with a Barbie theme.
I gather there's more focus on safety and proper disposal of the materials than there used to be.

Yep, that one is Bones S1 DVD set.

The cubes are 1970's era Parker Brothers Soma cubes. Think Tetris in 3D and the booklet has a bunch of 1 and 2 cube plans for different shapes you could build ;)

OK that sounds cool.... Oh frick it was Bones. I didn't notice the two of them there on the back cover.....

I said Etch-A-Sketch™ earlier, and I did have one (or two) back then. But what I purchased in recent years was a Spirograph™.

I freaking LOVE Spirograph. When I was a kid, a neighbor had one and I was very jealous. I can barely draw a line by myself so Spirograph just enthralled my grade-school spaz self. When I was in college, I saw one in the local grocery store for just a buck or two, so I bought it. While other students were out getting wasted due to exam-stress, I was sitting in my room, all mellow with my Spirograph.

As you can guess, I didn't have a lot of friends in college.

You can still buy spirographs today. I got one the other week and they come in a nice metal case with places for all the parts. Even a small notepad to get you started and a pen to go in the holes.

Super Friends.

I practically lived on that show when I was a kid. Got up at 6 AM every Saturday to watch it.

My favorite episode was "Universe of Evil"...it really creeped me out. And of course I've always been a sucker for "evil universe" episodes (of any series).

Does anyone recall ESSO's "Tiger in the tank" mascot?
Indeed I do -- and also this Mad magazine parody.
