Things to do with an xtra Xbox360

Hmm, my 360 is now coming up with error codes when I go to watch my videos via TVersity. Videos that worked yesterday. Please don't tell me that M$ intentionally broke it.

Well good. I asked the question because I had seen some (obviously BS) speculation about the update was going to cause some problems (specifically RROD). It was one of those things that I was pretty sure was pure BS, but I was kind of curious to see what happened. Sounds like it went well.

Note that if you're using the VGA adapter to a monitor, you can now run 1680x1050 - however, the screen will be letterboxed, even on a monitor whose native resolution is 1680x1050

Just like you, I was waiting for this update for that. Now I can put it in my monitor like I've been wanting to do

If an Xbox RRoDs and it gets repaired, what are the chances it RRoDs again? Because my old Xbox got repaired under the warranty and I want to sell it, but I don't want to sell someone a lemon.

There's always that risk when you sell a 360. Besides, even if you don't sell someone a lemon, Microsoft will :)

Haven't been paying close enough attention-how do you hook the box to the computer?

HDMI to DVI cable. And it's not through my computer, just to the monitor.

Sorry, I mis-spoke. Monitor. HDMI plugs in where? the TV? or the XBOX?

HDMI in the 360, DVI in my monitor.
Thank you. The DVI would be the trapezoid-shaped standard monitor plug, yes?

trapezoid? you're thinking of VGA

^but yes, watch out ... there are 3 types of DVI and you can't interchange (DVI-D for example)

This is not really related to my quote, but it's related to RROD. A friend sent me this link to a video this morning and I thought it was too funny not to share. PLEASE NOTE: I'm NOT taking a shot at the 360, it's just a funny video.
