Things that frustrate us all

1. The version of O Canada they play over the P.A. alternates between English and Miꞌkmawiꞌsimk. That's all well and good, but where the fuck is French? We literally live in a FRENCH SPEAKING PROVINCE! WHY IS IT ENGLISH AND MI'KMAWI'SIMK BUT ***NO FRENCH***??

2. Friend kept trying to talk to me during the announcements; got mad at me when I told them not to talk during announcements.

3. My entire schedule is fucked up today. Classes are 55 minutes instead of 65, my fourth period class is happening during first period time, and I have to go see a presentation during fourth period, go to fifth period, then go and watch the SAME PRESENTATION AGAIN DURING FIFTH.

4. I have a dentist appt. today. I hate the dentist.

Mortgage companies. I have been absolutely freaking the fuck out over our mortgage. Our monthly payment suddenly DOUBLED. We were barely scraping by, month to month, and sudden we're hit with a huge tax increase that literally doubled our monthly mortgage payment. We tried damn near everything to figure out how this had happened--we were scrimping and saving to try to pay our escrow down but were told we only had until to July. They sent numerous emails, warning us of how much debt we now had.

Hubby finally got ahold of someone on the phone and lo and behold, they had accidently doubled the taxes due. Last year, property taxes went on the April statement and this year, they went onto May's statement....but they forgot to take it off the in April and charged us twice.

HOLY FUCKING CHRIST. I was already doing home searches because I knew we'd never be able to pay that amount. With me on the verge of losing my job, we have been living month to month, paycheck to paycheck. My elderly mother will even send us some cash once or twice a year, because she knows we're broke.

Dear GOD, I hope that's an end to it.

I hate mosquitos, I killed like 10 of them last night
I live on an irrigation district canal. There are places where the water doesn't move that have lots of mosquitos. They always find a way in the house. I find that running a fan in the room keeps them at bay. They can't locate the source of CO2 that is exhaled and go to the ceiling. You don't have to aim the fan at you, it just has to circulate the air in the room.

I heard the version they sang after the cabinet swearing in yesterday, that was sung in English, French and Anishinaabemowin. It was a pretty nice rendition.

But, yes, dropping the French completely is a bizarre choice for a French-speaking province.

(Of course, I always find it somewhat amusing how very different the French and English versions are. :) )

Was excited that I got an email back about a job prospect. I should've known it was something shady. It seemed legit at first but was vague about the purpose--sounded vaguely like sales, something I definitely do NOT want, but I filled out the application via a link at LinkedIn. Got an email back, saying they would give me a call, so I gave them my cell number. They said they'd call at a very specific time. So I sat here, waiting, phone in hand. Got an email instead, saying they called--which they didn't--and then asked me to call their home office-- in Canada. Uh..... no. Did some more digging and it does indeed sound like online sales. So...definitely no.

Rats.

What? Nothing shady ever goes on here. :shifty:

In all seriousness, though, I'm really sorry about the job prospect. That's awful. Wish they'd do more about those type of outfits.

Wishing you good luck for better prospects in the future.

Late dinners.
By the time I got off work at 6pm, got gas for my SUV, walked the cats, started dinner and sat down to eat, it's 8 o'clock. By the time I'm done and cleaned up, it'll be close to nine; leaving me just enough time to shower and go to bed.

My mom has those too! It pisses me off every time I eat supper there. And she eats even later when I'm not there! Like how can you eat at 10pm?

Speaking of my mom, there is a draught in my country. Farmers are forbidden to sprinkle their soil with water from the nearby rivers because of the pumping ban. Using sprinklers are discouraged for your garden, my mom doesn't give a fuck though.

She used sprinklers when I visited her, when I asked her about it she said: "I pay enough for my water, and I don't want my plants to wither." A farmer pays more than you, and his plants are actually NECESSARY! Also, your plants grow back the next so stop acting like a drama queen

I bought some shorts from Instacart. I specified my size, and I got x small. It was not under one of the problems selections, so I had to message them. They came back and said they could not provide a refund because I bought it which I think was the whole point. They said if my problem, at least on the site, was on the menu that it would have resolved quicker. I have got refunds before and I remember it used to be under the drop-down menu. And I am pretty sure my specific problem. What gets my goat is they could not seem to comprehend that I got the wrong item and had to spell it out to them twice. So, I am out some money, and I had to throw away completely good shorts. :cardie:

Being sent the wrong merchandise is not one of the menu selections?

No, I looked and looked. So, I picked other, and it sent me to a message box for me to explain the problem. I swear it used to have wrong item under the selections. But I guess not? So, they tell me I could not get a refund because I bought it. Well... duh.

ETA: I meant I had to throw it away. I do not know anyone that is extra small. And I do not have transportation to a Goodwill.
