Things that frustrate us all

I should but we can't make any waves. We've been here since our house flooded and we're supposedly getting their best rate. The manager at one point pretty much said that she could rent out our room for more. We're trying to buy a place but it's taking forever.

Dang! That totally blows. Is insurance helping with anything ?

We didn't have insurance anymore because there were flood control improvements in the area and we were told that we didn't need flood insurance. We had homeowners insurance and windstorm insurance so if the roof had been blown off we would have been in much better shape.

All of sudden my Facebook New Feed is being flooded with ads of highly dubious quality - 'Cancel Your Union Membership!', 'Avoid COVID with these FDA approved drugs!', 'Help put up a billboard supporting President Trump outside your hometown!'. All of them have been blocked and reported; although I don't think it will do much.
You might get a harassment style raid by DHS or ICE if you live within 100 miles of an international coast or border. You don't need to worry about an IRS audit, all the employees that used to do that have been "doged." I don't have Facebook, Instagram or X. My browser blocks them with a container extension, and any hot linked photos. I know it's photos because it will have the file name and extension of .jpg or .img. That way, none of my data is shared with El Mu or Zuck.

Anyone ever had a sinus infection that clogs your ears so badly it feels like an ice pick in there? I've never been this sick and antibiotics are taking forever.

My last bout of Covid, the sinus pressure was so bad it felt like my head was going to explode. There was nothing I could do to relieve it until I sneezed and blew out these big globs of mucous.

They need to add "within 100 miles of any international airport" to that.

I've had terrible sinus problems all of my life. Allergy meds help a little for everyday issues

Tylenol Sinus has always helped me when the pain was just too much. My favorite salsa helps too, but probably not recommended if your tummy is a bit dodgy

I hope you feel better soon!

For sinus clearing, nothing beats a good amount of Atomic Horseradish on a Sandwich. Smart & Final carries it in the refrigerated aisle, usually near the yogurt. I find the hot horseradish goes right to clearing the sinuses, even better than Carolina Reaper Chili peppers. I find the peppers are more effective on headaches, than plugged sinuses.

Horseradish heat comes from isothiocyanate, and has a bitter aftertaste. The horseradish brands that aren't refrigerated all the time use vinegar to cut the bitterness, and stablize the horseradish flavor, but not being constantly refrigerated, reduces the "heat" from the isothiocyanate. Atomic Horseradish uses mostly Parsnips and less Vinegar to cut the bitterness, which doesn't reduce the heat effect, and uses refrigeration to stabilize the flavor and retain the "heat." If the product doesn't require the refrigeration until opened, then it won't be the "hottest."

Iisothiocyanate in horseradish also has natural antibacterial properties as well.

The idiots I work with. The test-takers are supposed to reply to the question with something along the lines of animals didn't live close together, or didn't intermingle, or something like that. This dumbass asks me if they should reduce the score because the writer put "the animals lived separately, not together."

The fuck? :brickwall:

Have you ever been checked by a specialist for a deviated septum? I had terrible sinus problems (infections mostly) at least once a month all of my life until about 26 years ago. I was around 15 or 16 years old at the time when the ENT (Ears, Nose, and Throat) specialist I was referred to found that I had a deviated septum and benign tumor in my sinus cavity. Ever since I had the procedure to fix this, I've only had 1 or 2 sinus infections since then.

I had surgery on my sinuses year ago. SO glad I did, too. Wish I had done it sooner. Apparently , my nose had been broken when I was very small (probably around 2, when your sinuses start elongating). No one noticed or thought it was an ordinary nose-bleed. Because of the misshapen bone, my sinuses grew in S-shaped. Years of infections and pain ensued. Finally, in my 30s, I saw a specialist and he said, "You know, you should be able to breathe out of both sides of your nose at the same time." I was stunned. Really? So glad I got the surgery to fix it. I still have occasional sinus trouble due to allergies but meds usually fix it fairly quickly.

Along with continuing house issues (now looking at $90k spend) and part time school on top of full time work, where the workload increases and staff decreases, both my girlfriends dad and my dad had heart attacks, one month to the day, after each other. My girlfriends dad had a triple bypass right before Easter, My dad is waiting for his open heart surgery and I'm currently helping out at his place. I have visited my house one night in the last month. My fence has blown down when I was away and I can't manage any of the major repairs because I'm not there.

I can't seem to get to a point where I'm not overwhelmed.

So sorry to hear that!

Tomorrow, mom and I have to go to the leasing office to drop off the proof of renters insurance plus ask them if they can get ahold of maintenance b/c we have a leaky ceiling plus a garbage disposal that doesn't work.
