If they were going to replace me and I was going to lose my job because of it, I wouldn't train them that well. When they completely screw it up, I would tell them, "good job." After all, what are they going to do about it, fire you? Kind of hard to do if you have been laid off. If they were going to promote you to be their supervisor would be one thing, but if they are doing it to get rid of someone who has more experience and a higher salary, the management that does, doesn't deserve to thrive financially from their short-sighted decision.
This. Autistic as well. Luckily here in St. Louis, the listings here in the city are fairly accurate. But what is inaccurate is the fact that they list bus stop locations in St. Louis County like on streets/roads like Watson, Gravois, Lemay Ferry, Manchester, Lindbergh, and suburbs like Chesterfield. With the exception of going to/from the airport or to/from the Illinois side, busses either do not go to those locations anymore, or they rarely go there. This is due to cuts that have been happening for decades.
Can't they yank the battery out or get you another room?
Before I learned that it's illegal to tamper with the alarm, I took the cover off. No battery, just wires. The guy at the desk didn't offer to get us another room. My mom is in a wheelchair and we're in a handicap room. I guess I'll just try to smother myself with pillows.
Since it is hardwired, it probably is dust buildup between the radioactive source and receiver. If you have access to a leaf blower or hair dryer, try aiming at the detector and see if a lot of dust comes out. It might fix it for you. Best of luck to you both.
I'm pretty sure he is in the Eastern Daylight Time zone, and posted at ~2300 local time. That is why I recommended the hair dryer. It will remove any dew or dust that is likely causing his intermittent issue. I use a battery powered leaf blower when my smoke detector acts up like that. I don't have a hair dryer, as my hairline is about the same as Patrick Stewart's.
I would have tried it but I didn't see your post until now. I had my head under 3 pillows. It was an awful night. I considered sleeping in the shower but it was almost as loud in there.
I'd demand a discount for putting up with crap
I should but we can't make any waves. We've been here since our house flooded and we're supposedly getting their best rate. The manager at one point pretty much said that she could rent out our room for more. We're trying to buy a place but it's taking forever.
