Things that frustrate us all

Ok, figure it out. No one needs it to still be daylight at nearly 9PM in July. It's nice outside. The day's over. Who cares? But it would be best for AM commutes, all thru October, to NOT be in the damn dark, while we wait to set our clocks back. By November, we only get a week or two of twilight back before it's dark every morning again anyhow. What did you achieve?

We could just enjoy more daylight on our morning commutes, uninterrupted. So, go ahead. Set the clocks back, and then LEAVE them that way... Forever. Give us back our daylight, permanently.

Your sincerely, Everyone's Aging Eyes
As someone on the eastern edge of a time zone, screw that! I want to be permanently on Daylight Saving Time, not Standard. Going full standard would cheat me out of seeing hardly any sun outside of the weekend.

I'm sorry, but I will argue against this at every opportunity. I dislike the clock changes too, but I want to stay on permanent daylight savings time. Standard time is the problem.

But perhaps even more frustrating, is they tease us with the possibility of getting rid of the clock changes every single year, but then do absolutely nothing about it. Here in Ontario, they passed a bill in 2020 to make daylight savings time permanent... but it doesn't take effect until Quebec and New York also make the same change. Let's just go ahead and do it on our own. I don't personally care if we're not the same time as Quebec and New York. Saskatchewan seems to be doing just fine staying on DST all year, even though none of its neighbours do.

Security guard at my store thought it would be really damn funny to make fun of me because I'm a Yankee fan and my team lost the World Series.

Idiot.

I mean, what, does he think I'm suddenly going to give up on my team just because we lost? Doesn't fucking work that way!

At least your team got to the World Series.

You should have told him, "Could be worse, could have been a Mets fan."

I am also a Mets fan.
I only meant that was what he probably was, and you could say it to him, unless you had both team's paraphernalia on.

At least you aren't a San Francisco Giants fan like me. It's back to wait until next year once again, and nowhere near the playoffs. We had 2010, 2012 & 2014 in my lifetime, hopefully that won't be all.

That sucks.

Glad your team made it as far as they did. Was bummed when the Tigers got knocked out. They played with a lot of heart and spirit.

If I had a nickel for every time I learned about people I hang out with having a DnD group but they immediately apologized with explaining they already had more people than what works best with roleplaying, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

This is the second cleaning lady I have who's incompetent. I asked to do the dishes, not in the tasks she's allowed to do which is bullshit. I asked to cook, only cleaning and ironing. While it's written on the damn website their staff do it!

Oh and the whole thing about that I should have a child because "it's part of life" fuck off, Karen! Time to go back to the cleaning service I had before this one, why did I even change?

My nieces cleaner actually quit because the house was too filthy every time she turned up.

She then booked another who was a guy, but she hadn't realised and he was one of those that clean in very little clothing , she said he did a good job though

When we were on holidays visiting my father-in-law in a south German town earlier this week, and wanted to buy a train ticket from the ticket machine (no shops available to ask real living people for a ticket, there), it was a really frustrating "aaaargh" moment:

Our train was supposed to leave in a couple of minutes, and the whole software design of the machine was totally intransparent ... we had no idea how to find out what kind of ticket we needed. It just proposed various types and tariffs, without telling us what exactly they included ... and the touchscreen was a hassle. You always happened to activate the tile slightly left to where you touched. And it lagged horribly. And whenever you wanted to correct your input, you had to cancel the procedure and start anew.

After we had finally figured out all the options for a ticket after several minutes, and chose "paying by card", and I inserted the card ... the machine just said "Card payment is currently not available due to technical problems. Try again later" ... and aborted the whole transaction! Aaaaaargh!!!

We eventually had to enter all choices again, cash payment worked and we narrowly got our train ... but this machine really frustrated me. I was in a bad mood for quite a while.

I'm glad I didn't have to use the vending machines on my Germany trip. Mobile apps worked fine.

Except for the Lufthansa one. Bloody useless. It wouldn't even let me check in - I had to do it at the airport.

I went into see a nurse practioner at my Dr.'s office on Monday and she pretty quickly and prescribed some meds for it. Although we were a little frustrated because we explained that it got better after my first appointment when it first popped up and I got meds for it, but it never went away completely, and she apparently either didn't listen or misunderstood and started talking about how I had to so close together. And the antibiotic she gave me was the same one that didn't get rid of it completely last time, but she does having me taking it twice as long, so I'm hoping that'll be enough for it to work. She also recommended that I go to my urologist, because she thought I had two infections back to back and I might need meds to stop them, and even though that isn't what happened I still called his office today, and was told he can't see me until February. I didn't bother making the appointment since I figured everything will probably by then, but if it doesn't go away against or comes back I will go see him. It's just a little annoying that they wanted me to wait 4 months for a fairly immediate concern.
Dealing with the medical system is just so frustrating sometimes, and these two incidents are perfect examples of why.
