I charge all my stuff every day.

And I guess all those mobile apps, it's not really that bad. I mean, it's not like I have to use them all at once! And they're remarkably easy to use.

Last time, for example, I didn't HAVE any of those mobile apps. So I had to use euros to pay for my transit tickets (Germans are apparently not big on credit cards). With the mobile apps, I can use credit.

I have doctor visits all over the state starting next week. Monday primary care doctor for a check up, not very far away, Thursday my colorectal surgeon specialist 75 miles south of me, then on the last Friday in September an MRI 120 miles northwest of me. I return to see my Urology Oncologist the first Friday in October in the city where the MRI was performed to discuss the MRI results and what happens next.

Yikes, luckily it sounded like the cardiologist the nurse practitioner I saw might send me to is in the same building, which is only like 10 minutes away from my house. It's a big fancy 3 story office with tons of different doctors, a pharmacy, a lab, and imaging.
One thing we are not lacking in AZ is doctors, especially since we're fairly close to Sun City, which is a city that only allows people over the age of 50 (I think) to live there.

To piggyback off of that. If you're going to bring your children to the store, give them something to do!
A book, tablet, sit them down in front of the TV and turn on cartoons, anything.
Had a customer come in wanting tires for his car, he brought his two sons with him, who proceeded to run about the lobby touching everything, annoying the other two guests in the lobby, and knocking a box of business cards off the counter, scattering them on the floor.
Paul asked the customer to keep his kids under control and the customer kinda shrugged and did nothing.
I really thought Paul was going to give up on the sale and ask the customer to leave.

Wait, what? So how does that even work? Like the city actually has bylaws that prevent people under 55 from living within its borders? How is that even legal?

Elliot Lake is a town here in Ontario well known as a retirement town, and deliberately markets themselves as age-friendly... but they don't try to legislate a minimum age to live there, and in fact they have people from across the age spectrum, even if the average age of the town is 61. (And I tend to think they would face a charter challenge if they did try to legislate a minimum age.)

Is every worker there also 55+, or do they hire a lot of people from surrounding communities?

Sorry for all the questions, the concept just boggles my mind. :)
 
I'm not sure how it works exactly, I just know how it's known around here.
My chest is feeling a little better today, but I think I've been doing to much corn, which I have a bad reaction to.
 
After I was looking for some cute baby deer's kicking I found this. I usually don't follow Peta but WOW. All the laughing and the deers spasms are disturbing. Makes me want to scenes a scene from 'TCM.' I hope it did not just make it to this YT channel but the local news.

From Wikipedia: "While in the United States discrimination in housing is generally prohibited, the Fair Housing Act of 1968 and the Housing for Older Persons Act of 1995 allow communities to restrict residency to older individuals. Individuals may buy into these properties regardless of age; however, the owner may be prohibited from occupying the property according to the association declarations and bylaws."

With my corn allergy possibly being behind some of my issues, I'm trying to avoid for the next few days, and it's almost impossible, because it's in everything. Between actual whole kernels, corn syrups, and corn starch, it's really, really hard to find stuff without it. I also learned a few months ago that dextrose is either a different name for corn syrup, or type of corn syrup. I've been eating stuff with tiny bits of corn starch and been OK, so I did have some today, but I'm trying to keep it to a minimum. I was especially shocked to see that IBC Root Beer has modified corn starch in it, I would not have expected it to be in a drink like that.

Dextrose could also be made from wheat, rice or any combination of wheat, rice and corn. You might have gotten luck and got some destrose not made from corn. I try to go sugar free and stick to zero calorie stevia.
 
Oy. VERY stressful trip to Berlin. Fortunately I’m here now, but where do I begin… :(

- On my connecting flight from Chicago to Munich - which lasted nine hours - my seat-mate was a SNORER. :mad: :brickwall:

- And when I actually GOT to Munich? Took forever to clear customs. I almost missed my connecting flight to Berlin!

- After I landed in Berlin, I couldn’t use the S-bahn to get to my hotel because the airport’s S-bahn service was shut down. So I had to take a cab. Because of a car accident on the highway - and the resulting traffic snarl - it took over an hour to get to the hotel!

- And to add insult to injury, when I tried to get into my hotel room, it turns out you have to PUSH the door. Took me a trip to the front desk to clear that up.

You cannot describe this little adventure withoutnusing the word ‘cluster’. :sigh:

I don't understand what you mean by you had to push the door? isn't that normal?

The door had a knob, so I thought that’s what I was supposed to use. :shrug:

But this knob didn’t do anything. It was an inert piece of metal.

And as I said, I have NEVER been in a hotel where you push on the actual door itself to open it. It’s always been a knob or handle.

Is this Germany? Perhaps it's just what Germans do? Lol.

Anyway. I hate the laundry room key cards we now have (referencing the other poster). I wish we still could just have the punch in number code but no... It very hard to swipe, there is really no clear way to swipe it. It's just some black plastic thing. Last time I lucked out and just waved it around and it worked this time. :rolleyes:
