Things that frustrate us all

Most office buildings use third-party janitorial services that don't work during normal business hours, so bathrooms get cleaned only once a day. Workers who trash the restrooms think they're striking back at the boss are just making more work for someone not connected to the boss.

Hobbies which are for kids that have been co-opted by rich adults and perverted for nostalgia purposes, making it prohibitively expensive for children to engage in and have fun.

Never in your life? Ever? How is that possible?
The only offices I've spent a significant amount of time in are doctors offices, and most of them are in their own buildings, rather being part of an office building. I also hate using the bathroom anywhere other than at home, so I will do everything in my power to avoid going anywhere else.

Bad and predictable endings. Episode 2 of SNW had a predictable ending, so all that could have been done to make this episode interesting is stuff before the ending. That was a big fail. I finished up Annihilation on Netflix today. The ending was underwhelming.

Well, to be fair, it HAD to.

Obviously Rebecca Romijn wasn't leaving the show, so somehow Una had to get her job back and her record cleared.

It was inevitable. That end result HAD to occur. It's just a question of how.

If it was Breaking Bad, the opposite would have happen. We'd have drama and a crisis to figure out what to do next. Instead, we get clapping.

Even with stories where you pretty much know how it's going to end, it can still be good since it becomes a question how they'll get to that outcome. Ad Astra per Aspera, the second episode of Strange New Worlds, I'm assuming that's the one you're talking about and not Season 1 episode 2, was like that for me.

In general, I'm on a streak for terrible endings. Watched 3 Days of the Condor last night. It has been a while. The ending there is pretty awful too.

I now crave a good ending.

Watch Veggie Tales or Lord of the Rings.
Where people use the excuse that you're either too young or too old so your ideas are irrelevant.
I always find it odd when people say that. I'm hitting middle age, and still learning things from people that are much older, and much younger than I. I'm never to old to learn, never to old to contribute.

People need more humility.

Every day usually gives me one big IDIC moment.

Here is one of them.

ETA: and I don't mean that with any disrespect. Usually soundtracks are probably the least of my concerns when it comes to media. If it works, great and if it doesn't usually something can pull me through, like acting or story.

LOTR is one that my wife and I both thoroughly enjoy from a musical standpoint.

A true irritation...

On a streaming service, you put a show you are watching on pause to get a better look at a graphic, uniform, ship, or whatever... and superimposed over the image is a huge ad for whatever.

Especially annoying when you are trying to make sure what you are thinking about is indeed accurate.

TUBI does this.

Paramount Plus does this. HBO did it when we had it. (Don't know if that stayed when it become just MAX, but I doubt it was taken out.)
