Things that frustrate us all

The tinnitus in my bad (left) ear gets steadily worse. It's gotten to the point where I need a prescription sedative like Ambien to help me sleep. I'm seeing an audiologist who specializes in tinnitus treatment next Tuesday.

Hopefully they are able to do something to give you some relief!

Thanks! I probably won't hear any results until next week. :(

Hopefully there's no issue... sending positive vibes for good news!

When there’s some old twat in the Hospital complaining and you just know he voted Brexit and Conservative (or rather “Boris”) and you’re like “well you and your generation caused this”

.....................Comcast came yesterday to install security system. Fuckwit installer went into the attic and stepped on pipes. Flooded three rooms of a our brand new house. We haven't even unpacked yet.

I cried all last night.

And the doctor confirmed this morning that our crappy motel room gave me scabies, which has now spread to my face, but medicine for it won't be at my pharmacy until tomorrow.

Jim Adler the Texas Hammer, maybe? Seriously though, I hope things get better.

 OMG, I'm so sorry for all of this. What a nightmare. Your luck has to improve soon?

For the Comcast thing... can you sue? It certainly sounds like negligence, and you shouldn't be on the hook for covering the damages.

We have contacted our insurance agency. They sent a ServePro team first thing in the morning. We have an array of large fans--weird giant box/toaster-looking things that are all over the house, and one huge one that literally pulls the moisture from the air and runs it through a giant IV tube to the sink. It also is loud as FUCK. It's like having a hair dryer next to your ear 24/7. I'm in my office right now, because it has a door. If hubby and I are standing right next to each other, we still have to yell to be heard. Not sure how I'm going to sleep tonight---I have to be up around 6am for work. I'm hoping it will have a white-noise effect after awhile. Hubby hates it--he's thinking about sleeping at a friend's house. Can't blame him. I have to be up around 6am for work tomorrow, so I'll just take a Benadryl and try to tune it out.

Our insurance company says they will still charge us our deductible and cover the damage, but they will go after Comcast for the money. So far, that seems like our best bet. It's early days, though. I'm letting hubby handle it because I just can't deal with another thing.

On the other hand we FINALLY had some good luck--our new dryer showed up so we could finally do some laundry. The builder also finally brought us our new refrigerator, so we can go grocery shopping tomorrow and actually have a place to put our food. The painters showed up and did a few tiny touch ups but that was it. We still have some stains on the tile and sloppy grout work but at this point, fuck it. We were able to finally empty some boxes and hang clothes up in our new closet.

I'm just waiting for the next bomb to explode. Not sure how much more I can take.

I'm sorry that this has been so hard on you. Sounds like a total nightmare. It's supposed to be fun getting a new house.

For years now, the local CW TV station's sound has been off, and it seems weird to me that it has gone on so long with out being fixed, I would assume after all this time someone must have noticed it. Sometimes it's better and sometimes it's worse, at it's best it's just a tiny bit off, and you won't even notice it unless your paying close attention, but at other times it's so far off that when people are talking you won't actually get the sound until after their mouths have stopped moving. It's not just dialogue though, it's all of the sound, so there are times where you will see a door close, and......... then........ you'll get the sound.

The movers broke our TV. I've had no tv for a week, except for what I watch on my tablet or my computer---but if I watch TV on my desktop, I have to use head phones because my speakers are somewhere in our storage unit, which we aren't going to bother clearing out until we get the damaged rooms fixed. God only knows when that will be.

It might not be the local station. Are you watching direct or via cable? Try re-scanning all the channels. Does the picture sometime freeze or get big blocks in the image? That could be either weak or too strong of a signal.

Sympathies.

I thought that was just our signal! The owners must be cheap.

It's yall's signal.

I watch as lot of the CW shows, (haters: :angryrazz:) and all have very good sound these days. While I always have captions on to catch the rare missed word or two, I hardly ever need it on the CW.

Back when Supergirl was airing though, I pretty much needed to read the whole show every episode. No setting could fix that mess. Don't know what it was about that one show but, <Scotty> thank god that's over.

Cable, and it's does it on all three of our TVs, so it's something on their side, not just one TV.

OK, good to know it's definitely not just our TVs.

Security indicator light? No label on it. Just a random, unmarked, ominous, mole sized, blinking red light, that comes on whenever I turn the vehicle off, which you have to dig through the owner's manual/ Reddit forum etc... to find out WTF it means. What's it mean? You're fine. Security system functioning within acceptable parameters.

Then it should be a F###ing GREEN light jackasses, or no light, or anything but a light that would make someone think they're being warned something is wrong with their vehicle. RED blinking lights mean I have something to deal with, & I already have enough to deal with, without adding a completely nonsensical warning light, for no reason. I hate modern crap in cars. Some days I miss when it was just 4 wheels & windows, 2 doors & a tiller.

You have one job. Get me there without anything going wrong. A red blinking light is universal code for me thinking you're not up to the task.

My car's Bluetooth connectivity isn't working anymore. Before it was always finicky with trying to pair a device, and now it won't work at all. I doubt it's a simple fix. They would probably have to replace the whole radio/receiver/whatever it's called unit. This is why I don't like the idea of everything going to Bluetooth.
