Things that frustrate us all

I'm thinking - because I tried everything '- to make his bills / correspondence disappear

I don’t know how it is where you’re from, but here mail theft is a crime punishable by up to 10 years in jail. If it’s also a crime where you’re from, is this something you really want to risk?

You say you’ve tried “everything”, but only mention talking to the neighbour a few times. Have you talked to the owner of the building? If the pigeons are really making that much of a mess, the owners might not be too pleased about it either, and they’d actually be in a position to do something about it.

As I said I haven't done anything ... I was mainly joking of course. I would never do that first because it is not legal and secondly because he might do the same.
We don't have an owner of the building.... there's an association of people who live there...and there's a president of this association .. but he is very busy, doesn't care too much.
As for myself I ain't like someone who complains a lot :)
He's just bored... I guess.... keeps feeding those damn birds lol :)

Whatever the… junk noise… is that I keep hearing coming from people’s cars & houses out here on Oahu.

It’s definitely NOT music, just some ridiculously maxed out bass beat/thump with some idiot (trying to) rap or even just talk, some sort of nonsense. It’s just awful. :barf: :barf: :ack:

My neighbor right now is playing some of this ridiculous garbage, and you can hear it from 2 blocks away, all about ‘my b*tches and my h*es’... Lovely. :wtf:

What happened to rock and roll?

Cheers,
-CM-

I have been known to "rattle" a few windows, back in the day, when I turned it up too....11

never got to learn Samba :D

I'm frustrated coz I have this old neighbor who lives like 2 floors above me.... and since 2 years he has this new hobby (being retired) - he became a pigeon fancier :)
Our complex of apartments is pretty neat and clean and all the neighbors are the same. He was too, until he retired like 2 years ago.
Thing is I don't really care what he does, but all these pigeons he "tamed" sometimes are landing on my external windowsill too and it's not a pleasant thing to see them shi........ng all over it.
I talked with him a couple of times, but it seems he doesn't understand.....

One of our neighbours had fairly steep perspex ramps to prevent them from staying long enough. Depending on your windowsill, it might be more difficult to use that sort of thing. (It may also not be something that looks too pretty). Some people suggest Chili or peppers to discourage them

They were doing it to prevent the cat from bringing the pigeons in too much though rather than crap.

Another neighbour has a mockup owl (with battery operated rotating head) on their bay window but that'd be too large for a window sill. The pigeons seem to be discouraged by that but Robin just doesn't give a damn and sits on it's head sometimes:D

I've seen all sort of things like these you mentioned....
We have a church downtown (a cathedral) and they put these loudspeakers which emit some sort of hawk sounds .... but after a month or so - pigeons got the idea and they're just sitting and "chatting" near the loudspeakers lol :)

Yeah, one of the other popular options mentioned on the net is a dog (which may bark at them) - but we've seen them get used to that here. The local magpies tried to chase them off, but now the pigeons have a go back at them too now.

Next doors cat is now at the point where chasing any of the birds is too much effort (She's getting on a bit and just wants cuddles and food delivering to her now)

I've seen places where they have trained hawks specially trained against pigeons :)
Big cities with rare expensive statues are "attacked" by these "little creatures" :)

Pigeons and seagulls are rats with wings. :ack:

That was a paraphrase of a movie quote, btw. ;) But it makes it no less true.

They're sometimes training the hawks against crows and ravens as well....
It's a known fact that crows are moving from one place to another in large families (groups) and it is enough when hawk kills 1 member of their family and they will leave seeing what happened to one of their members :)

There's been a bunch of vehicle break ins in my neighborhood. Mostly people who leave their car doors unlocked. I have a garage, but it's tiny and barely fits the car, the door doesn't even open all the way when you get out. Guess I have to park in there for a while.

I love Ibis ........... We have groups of them that come here every now and then and eat all the food scraps.

Why do they cast certain actors for certain roles then don't let them use their natural voice which would have perfectly suited that role, for example Aussie dramas with Aussie actors yet they can't speak in their natural voice but are forced to change it a little.

Perhaps to make it easier for international sales. Can't remember if was on TV or Youtube but I've seen English subtitles when the person speaking is speaking English, sure there was an accent I could understand 99% of what they were saying without reading the subtitles.
