Things that frustrate us all

Doing it in the middle of the night would have problems because some people still have plug in alarm clocks.

The least disruptive time would be the early afternoon on a work day.

Not for those who work from home and then if there are any delays in completing work you begin to run into one of the time of days when there is more demand for power meal time.

And whilst I do have a plug in alarm clock I also set the alarm on my mobile phone just in case power fails.

Todays argh: all of Bavaria had thunderstorms and rain. Except for my town. On the radar it's clearly visible how the clouds stop and divide to pass around town. Very annoying cause I must water my plants now. I should have hung up some laundry as rain-bait.
We have the same thing where we live, it's like we have some kind of crazy bubble that covers just the few miles right around us that the rain just can't get through. It'll be a huge storm, but it will disappear as it goes past our little bubble, and the reform on the other side. It has to be a big storm, coming from just one direction, for us to actually get measurable rain.

It's because of the fucking EPA. Automakers love this shit because it helps them game the system regarding fuel consumption tests.

These auto start/stop systems don't actually save jackshit in terms of your own fuel costs, nor do they appreciably cut down on actual emissions; they're just a way for auto manufacturers to cheat and look "woke".

But don't take my word for it... ;)

The Truth About Automatic Engine Stop-start Systems

Then why blame "the fucking EPA" and not the corrupt car companies running a scam?

82! I don't think I could get any sleep if it was that hot in our house.
I don't understand the horrible shit that people can do to animals, a few days ago my mom told me that she saw a news report about how someone in California is randomly going around and breaking pelican's wings. And earlier today I accidently startled one of the horses while a couple of horseback riders passed me while I was on my bike and I still feel guilty about it now. The rider and the horse were fine, it just kind of jumped a bit and stepped back, but it was still enough for me to feel bad.

At the store where I work we keep the delivery vehicles on the side of the building where it's clearly labeled 'No Parking. Delivery Vehicles Only'.

Yet, more often than not I go out on a delivery, come back and there's a car parked in my space.

Occasionally, there's someone in it and I'll remind them of the sign and they'll get this look on their face and they'll sheepishly say, 'I didn't see it.'

No, you saw it, you just didn't care or think you'd get caught.

You don't expect people to read do you?

People read what they want to read rather than what a sign actually says. No Parking Means, No parking for more than x minutes.

Offers in shops will say X but customers will read it as Y.

During the peak of Covid we had signs saying please queue on next aisle, customers wouldn't see it and when you direct them to the correct place they would say you should have a sign up, You then politily tell them they just past the sign telling to just that.

Apparently when a postal carrier's shift is ending and there are still undelivered packages, they take them back and will deliver them the next day. No big deal. However, the post office will mislabel the delivery as "Held at Post Office, At Customer Request." I just learned about that today.

A couple for me the tracking has shown "delivered," but then I didn't actually receive it until the next day. :scream:

There's a power outage, it's dark and the torch stops working you finally find a candle, and surprise, that matchbox that you finally remember where you left the last time you needed a match (ages ago) shows signs of moisture and the matches don't work...so it's the middle of the night, cloudy, no moon, no street lights and it pitch black...you still have your day clothes on, you haven't taken a shower yet...Great!

Well that's a bee-atch, maybe buy flashlight?

I always check the batteries, jic. We had a big bunch of thunder-boomers last week and the 'lectric was out for 10 hrs. Be prepared.

A carry a wind up torch in my car, that way I don't have to worry about batteries

This morning I went to the gas station, tried three different pumps, and between the three got about two gallons of gas before they ran out.

Also it’s 97 degrees now but somehow 20 degrees cooler than Canada.
