Things that frustrate us all

Bugs in the house. I found another stinkbug in the house last night. I can't figure how they are getting in, but every so often there is one prancing around, daring me to notice it. If they didn't move in my line of sight, I'd never notice them. This last one was crawling along the top of the white waste basket next to my chair. It was gone in a flush.

Money, and my lack of it. Any one have thoughts on how we can hurry up that moneyless Star Trek utopia? I'd love to not have to wait until sometime after 2063 (and WWIII).

I've had serious back pain for the past few weeks--a recurring problem from old injuries, and from being fat, old and totally out of shape. I was going to vacuum and mop the floors today--they really need it--but it hurts too much. The last few days have been miserable. I can do laundry and maybe go water the yard later; that's about it.

Being bad at the things I enjoy doing, and only good at things I don't give a damn about. Except writing and singing, but you have to be top 0.1% to do them professionally. I'm not.

I did plenty of practice... but there's some talent involved. I'm the kind of singer who wouldn't make an interesting view on America's Got Talent, because I'm not good enough to rock the audience's socks, but not bad enough for Simon Cowell to properly rip to shreds.

It kind of frosts my shorts when people rag on Denis Leary for supposedly stealing routines, where in fact pretty much every comedian in history has done that at some point. So what makes Denis somehow more guilty than everybody else?

If all the other comedians can get away with it, so should he.

And in the end, as long as it's funny...who the hell cares?

Originality and authenticity are important for performers, and if you're going to use somebody else's work, you should cite them and give them the credit. Otherwise you're just profiting from somebody else's work.

But as I said, comedians steal each other's work all the time. Goes all the way back to Milton Berle, if not before. So Denis Leary cannot be "more guilty" than any other comedian, since THEY ALL DO IT.

Doesn't make it right, of course. But it happens, nonetheless.

I haven’t heard about the Leary case but cases like Dane Cook and Carlos Mencia seem more extreme than the normal level.

Word. Accidentally turned to it this morning, thinking that Let's Make A Deal was on. Turned from it VERY quickly. Boycotting his crap.

People who stand off to the side of a line in a store. It's easy to think that they're not in line and/or waiting in line for someone. Then dealing with said persons person being a bullying idiot. So done with people.
-_-

People who think that flashing their high beams at a red light will make it turn green faster

It's VERY prevalent in this area

They must have heard about the devices attached to signal lights that detect the flashing lights of emergency vehicles.
Somebody had even marketed a device to mimic the emergency flashing lights to get stop lights to change at command, although in the US, the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act passed in August 2005 made the use and sale of such devices for personal use illegal.
