Things that frustrate us all

I found something to watch on Amazon Prime. It was a nothing special documentary but sometimes interesting, so I started watching it whenever I was eating a meal. So watch part of it here, part of it there. And then it was no longer free on Prime and I would have to pay to finish it. So I started watching something else, and it happened again!

Tumblr updates. I swear that staff there are so incompetent sometimes. They now made the music player flicker when it's at its lowest height and I have to raise it to have it stop. It's very annoying.

software changes in general are a nuissance. It's laudable of the programmers to fix bugs but it's plain frustrating for the user to have to search for basic commands because they restructured the surface once again. I don't want modern-looking software, I want software that works properly and looks familiar!

Car in front of me was so slow that I knew I wasn't going to make the light. Car in front of me didn't make the light either, but still crossed the intersection anyway.

^the bus here does that all the time. Sorta "you have the right of way but I have more horsepowers".

Frustration today: being diabetic sucks. There are so many wonderful Easter sweets everywhere and I can eat only very little before I feel really ill.

I don't know if they are sold there (or if you like them) but they make sugar-free marshmallow Peeps. Before my dad died we would get several packages of them around Easter and give him a treat every now and then. My mom even made him some Rice Krispy treats using the Peeps.

In that vein: cars that rush to pull out in front of you when they're pulling out, just to drive slower than you were.

and cars that pull out suddenly and set the indicator only when they are already in the other lane! It's a bit like telling your partner you're pregnant, 3 weeks after you gave birth.

@Gary Mitchell good idea but I haven't seen them anywhere over here yet. But what would you expect of a country where reese's buttercups are totally unknown:shrug:

I don't know if he still does it, but when I was younger, my uncle would never activate the left turn light until after the light turned green. Never really thought much about it when I was a kid, but as an adult, it pisses me off if I get stuck behind a driver I didn't know was going to turn left. If I had known that, I would've gotten into the other lane which is now filled up.

Some morons stuck stickers with political messages onto the corona measure information boards all over my town, so that nobody can read what rules are valid atm (the rules change depending on the infection rates in the respective district). They also stuck them to shop windows, cars and letterboxes. Among others, they used Nazi symbols which are strictly forbidden in Germany and will get them a fine of several thousand Euros or a few months prison. Add to it the damage to the boards (the stickers can be removed only by solvents which dissolve the boards as well), cars and letterboxes, and the total cost for the town and every other victim is considerable. I do hope the cops catch those bas*... err... those sons of unmarried parents.
Voicing ones political ideas - as crude as they might be - is ok, but damaging other people's property is perfectly inacceptable.

It's even more frustrating when they pull out in front of you causing you to slow down and they take the next available turn off the road, when there was nothing behind you and they could simply have waited a couple of seconds for to pass.

Infrastructure maintenance is a *huge* problem in the US, not just with electricity, also with things like dams. When people are trying to cut costs, the first thing they cut is the can they can kick a little further down the road. Take credit for the budget cut, and by the time it comes back around you've moved on and it's somebody else's problem.

And I doubt this will change any time soon. The problem is most if not all of us want well funded Schools, Police, Fire, Health, infrastructure etc.. but want to pay as little tax as possible that fund these things.

And are in denial about how badly they could fail when they're stressed.

A month ago it was people in Texas having no food and heat. Next time it could be a dam exploding and destroying a neighborhood.

Karma does exist. I was behind someone who had to break hard to avoid someone who pulled onto the road in front of them. The car that braked was a police car and his lights went on as soon as he took his foot off the brake.
:rommie:

My refrigerator started to die. It was expensive but never very good anyway so I started looking for a new one. There aren't many in stock right now. I spent days researching. I finally found one that seems good so I started to order it last night from Best Buy. Even scheduled the installation and everything. I get ready to click on the order now button.....my debit card is declined. :brickwall:

Plenty of money in the account. I called the customer service phone number from the back of the card...no one is there.
They actually have an message about leaving my name and ph number and they'll call me back!?
They never did. I called them back this morning and someone was finally able to help. Seems my debit card has a $2,000 a day limit. I guess that's good security-wise but no one was there to fix it for me. It took so long that I had to reschedule the installation for another day. :ack:

That and other similar antics (listed above) happen a lot out here in Hawaii, but the capstone to it is when the driver throws you a shaka in thanks. So the trend is to throw a shaka back, and just roll with it (unintentional pun, sorry)... :)

I will mention the plethora of free range chickens and roosters we have around here. That takes some getting used to...

Cheers,

bought 2 nets of avocados - riper ones than I had hoped for - and the guy at the checkout hurtled them over his scanner and down the little ramp towards me as if he'd try to win a bowling match. Argh! Now I have 14 avocados that are bruised and have to be eaten within 3 or 4 days.
