Things that frustrate us all

Went to the store to buy some wrapping paper to wrap my granddaughter's birthday present. When I came out, I went to my car but this one couldn't be mine, because this car had a bashed in area. Oh no! It WAS my car! Some creep had bashed into it and left without leaving a note or anything. A hit and run! Grrrr!
That's terrible. I don't suppose the store has any cameras in the lot?

I second what @Gary Mitchell said: you definitely need to check the store or shopping center for security footage. I hope your insurance company will cover the damage to your car.

The way certain industries are sooo secretive about how much their service actually costs! It's like you have to be halfway into the process of signing a contract before you can squeeze a ballpark figure out of them. How much to rent a bare-bones office space downtown? How much to rent a delivery box at the local parcel & print shop? "Exact pricing will vary, depending on a number of factors including blah, blah, blah, blah." And I've been on the other end where I had to say stuff like that to clients. I didn't understand it then, either.

Storms. I hate them. Another one is currently raging. Keeps me wondering how to get to work tomorrow. I have to get up sooner and I must hope that there is a train then. I can't stand all the smug people with their work place 300 meters away from their living place complaining about getting wet or getting disheveled hair......

I’m fed up with this weather, too. Today, I had to cancel my lunch date with my dear friend who I don’t get to see very often in the first place. :sigh:

^this current flu strain is particularly persistent. I caught it in January when sitting next to my boss for half an hour and I'm still fighting the infection.

darned! I keep confusing draught and drought. Is there any mnemonic trick you can recommend to solve this problem?

I suspect many Brits these days use draft instead of draught, Draught usually being used to describe a drink (usually alcoholic) drawn from a Keg.

Though I suppose perhaps one way to differentiate the two is one of the syllables of drought sounds like out and a drought tends to indicate a lack of water or being out of water. Not sure if that helps.

^welcome to the board. I hope we infect you with Trekism :D ;)

But a draft is a sketchy first version of a document. Doesn't that lead to confusion?
