Yea I like both Fall and Winter the most where I'm at, along with Spring when it's not that warm. That's horrible.I hate the hot weather. Winter is my favorite time of year. Unfortunately, it's in godly hot here 7 months of the year.
I'm the opposite. I'm always hot. Even when I run the air conditioner (as I am as we speak), I need my ceiling fan and floor fan on (both are also going strong as we speak). In the winter time (which I love) I never use my heater, don't need it, but keep several windows cracked open because my house gets stuffy. I wish it snowed in Sacramento. I swear I could go out in it naked and the heat from my body would melt it for a 10,000 mile radious in all directions.I love the hot weather. Probably because we get so little of it. I live my life feeling cold most of the time. Winter is the worst, but I’m cold even in temperatures most people consider “average”. Summer is the only time I actually feel warm, so of course I appreciate that.
The worst part of summer is that everyone wants to crank their air conditioning, so I’m often cold even in the summer months. I don’t appreciate having to wear sweaters to work in July! (I remember one time the A/C broke, and it was around 28C inside, and everyone was complaining how hot it was... and I was like, “But I’m actually comfortable for once!”)
That being said, I’m the only one in my family who is like this: everyone else is heat-averse. So I understand that everyone has their own internal thermostat, and I would try not to (seriously) deride people just because their own doesn’t mesh with mine. Sure, they tease me in winter, and I tease them in summer, but it’s all just good-natured ribbing between family members.
But I have had to bite my tongue when I read things about how wonderful winter is, and how we should all embrace it as part of our Canadian heritage or some such nonsense, when I feel like I’m dying from cold. So I can sympathize, @Random_Spock . And yes, it can even get too hot for me, once it starts getting over 40C or so. That doesn’t happen very often here, but I can understand where people are coming from who live in more southern climes where that is the norm. But for right now, I’m just going to sit in my non-air-conditioned home, and enjoy our low-30s!
I hope everyone who is dealing with excessive heat, is able to stay cool!
Anyone else really hate it when you’re a fan of something obscure or nichey and people idly imply you only like that thing to appear cool to people?
There are very few things mainstream that I like. For example, I could listen for hours to Bach's harpsichord music, while most of the people I know, even the ones who went to college would get a headache after an hour or less. And that's why I only do it when I am alone, otherwise, I would be alone anyway.![]()
Have you actually tasted chalk? My wife made me cookies, such a nice gesture, but she made them gluten free.....taste like chalk.....she is gluten intolerant so she is experimenting.......put on a good face "Taste great Honey, thanks so much"
If you were ever tasked with cleaning the chalkboard and chalkboard erasers at school, chances are you got a taste from the inevitable clouds of chalk powder.Have you actually tasted chalk?
Frustration: When the heat makes you too tired to do anything, even with the air conditioning on, and you (meaning myself) already suffer from fatigue due to having cerebral palsy.
thank you!Hi @Flying Spaghetti Monster ,
Sorry, I'm not really sure this one warrants its own thread. I'm going to merge it with the "Things that frustrate us all" thread.
