Things that frustrate us all

How a bout a cup of chocolate and a few cyber-hugs? {{{{{Valkyrie}}}}}
(LOL I seem to be the only one who still uses hug brakets - they used to be so popular around the start of the millennium)
eta: my dictionary says a synonym for millennium is chiliad. That'd explain the chill!
Hug brackets, I wondered what the curly brackets were about.

^ The curly brackets seem to be used more for mathematics and sciences, or as a bigger version in the margin of reference works to show that two lines of text are related.

My frustration for today is the way certain prominent websites mix both news items and ads in their headlines. :thumbdown:

I hate when ads do that.

I really don't like it when people tailgate (have their vehicle too close to another one)... and when they try to pass, etc., without turning on their turning signals.

Back then most chats had no graphics and the typing space was limited to 2 lines - a bit like early Twitter - so that we had to resort to all sorts of signs/symbols. The best known ones are smilies - their codes have survived in the smilie codes like
Code:
:)
for :)
Some of the others we used were:
:´( ........crying
B-).........cool
:-\ .........sceptical
@_@ ....puzzled, confused
o_0 .......wtf, weird
=) ..........excited, animated, enthusiastic, very cheerful (I still use that one a lot)

{} ...........hug
[] ...........pat/slap on shoulder or a more male hug
x ............kiss (I think that one is still in use on snail-mail)

Argh moment today (apart from this board being unable to display several spaces in a row to make an optically pleasing list) : my memory appears to have suffered from my illness the other day. I could have sworn I have a medical appointment in January but just (re-)learned that it was actually in April. 55 is a bit young to get Altzheimer's, so I hope it's just a temporary problem.

Had a douchebag parker on here a day or two ago, too.

He parked his big-ass pick-up truck across three or four parking spaces in a place where at that the time he did it, the parking spaces start filling up fast and it's hard to get a spot.

I wish I had "I Park Like a Jackkass" stickers so I could slap one on his back bumper. He'd never have seen it until it's too late.

great idea! You could make a fortune with those stickers.

frustrating thing today: the ventilation shaft in my lab got sealed up a few years ago. The seal appears to have come loose and now there's a sort of chink that works like the mouthpiece of a flute. The whistle is unbearable and we shan't get a mechanic before Epiphany.:crazy: I think tomorrow I'll bring my ear defenders.

My continuing frustration is the text notification that our administrative assistant (ie - front desk receptionist) uses on her phone. Whenever she gets a text her notification is this little baby voice that says "You have a tiny little text message. It's very tiny. Please read it."

I cannot tell you how much like nails on a chalkboard this is to me. It's a small office so you can't not hear it. UGH!

Could be worse could be something along the lines of

"You have a bigly text message, it's the most important text message ever." ;)

But what ever happened to just a simple beep or two or for us Trek Fans, the hailing frequency tone from TNG.
