Things that frustrate us all

Too much packaging, especially molded plastic you have to cut with scissors, risk the sharp edges of it as you jam it into your rubbish caddy only to see it reform and take up the whole space and poke out the lid.
Oh those kinds of packaging are evil! I hate having to deal with anything that is put into one of them.

We use about three times the amount of plastic that would be necessary to keep things "airproof", given the plastic "continent" that is growing at an impressive rate, it' something we should think about changing... radically.

amen to that, Discofan. It's incredible how much plastic I find when I'm sampling rivers and streams. Yet - but that's strictly between us - simuliid (blackfly) larvae love to settle on plastic foil and prefer it over any natural substrate.
Looking for an interesting blackfly video on youtube I just discovered this wonderful blackfly song and clip - if I weren't already a blackfly fan I'd surely become one now ROTF :D

Here’s something that frustrated the hell out of me today:

Trying to get on the train from Berlin to Munich.

You cannot describe this little adventure without using the word “cluster”. :brickwall:

I mean, our tickets told us just fine which train car to use (and where our seats were). But the fucking TRAIN ITSELF didn’t! Most of the train cars were not labelled clearly, and those that were, kept CHANGING THEIR NUMBERS after the train pulled into the station. :sigh:

And of course there were no conductors to be found either. Bloody inter-city express... :(

Welcome to Germany. There's a reason most people prefer to fly from B to M.
I'd like to appologize on behalf of my countrymen. Deutsche Bahn is almost proverbial for its bad service and chaotic management.
It's only small comfort but if you're planning trips to the vicinity: most smaller lines are operated by private rail companies who offer excellent service.
Getting around in Munich is easy but the ticket system is complicated. A day ticket might be ideal for you There is one called Gruppen-Tageskarte. It's for up top 6 people. 1 day costs 12.80 but there is also a 3 day ticket for 29.60
If you need help, the staff at Munich central station will assist you. Or maybe the staff at your hotel.

There's only one thing to do: Ban the Bahn...

true. Getting to my parents by train takes 3 hours and 4 changes (on time mostly, though, since all 4 stages are run by private rail companies) and costs about 70 Euros.
Getting there by car takes 55 minutes and renting a vehicle costs me 85 Euros for the whole weekend.
