When you order some traditional outdoorsy archery supplies and end up on an NRA mailing list.![]()
I received mailings from AARP when I was 14....
Fruit flies. They seem really bad at the office this year. Whenever I try to eat my lunch, I get a bunch of them swarming around me. Rather annoying.
Those pesky auditors. We’ve got an external coming up. And I know exactly what they’ll say, but it’s ok, I already got the invoice paid for something that will put it right, it just needs actually actioning. And it will be, eventually.
Just a disclaimer that I am not saying anything against Hispanic people.
To make matters worse, on the west side of town was an apartment complex where the residents were all Hispanic folks who did not like to pay their bills.
I think this hyper-sensitivity to every thing that is said needs to stop.
Yes, you've made your opinion on this clear a few times now.
Your anecdote didn't even need to mention ethnicity. You went out of your way to do so. The fact that you needed to add your disclaimer implies you knew it was problematic, and would be taken as such.
And while you're casting blame on the post office, perhaps save some for the municipality that thought it was an acceptable idea to give two different streets within the same town, the same name. Beyond just things like mail delivery, that must have caused a fair bit of confusion for emergency services.
I had no idea that was allowed. Pretty annoying.Cities that have two streets with an identical name.
Your work environment isn't temperature controlled? That sounds awful.I had no idea that was allowed. Pretty annoying.
I so hate it when my boss takes 2 weeks off without notifying his second in command ( = lil' old me). My mailbox and pidgeon hole almost burst this morning, the cops need an expertise asap (preferably yesterday), the government wants a report on the current draught (also preferably yesterday) and 2 universities asked for help with the analysis of several batches of samples. I can delegate a bit of that stuff but the bulk will be my responsibility. I don't mind working like a horse but in this searing heat it's hard to concentrate. Atm it's 30°C in my office and still rising (it faces south). I'll have a look at the vacation list after lunch break - with a little luck I can borrow an office in the eastern wing's basement for a few days.
