Things that frustrate us all

Who knows? I think the boss sat there for 30 minutes trying to get something out of the staff but never got more than "It's weird," or "Huh?" out of them.

I always hated that. What's worse is that the people would act offended that they were expected to communicate like adults.

I ended up quitting; it was less a job of running a store and more like running a day-care for six-foot tall infants.

I actually had an employee tell me she expected to be paid for the hour that she didn't actually work. She was stuck in traffic and was an hour late but demanded she be paid for it, since the traffic wasn't her fault.

I think my reaction was something along the lines of "Are you fucking kidding me?!"

eta: Phone call from one of Hubby's relatives is the perfect example of something that drives me SPARE:
*phone rings*
Hello?
Hi, Hill.
Um, hi. How's this?
It's Mary Sue.
Hi! How are you?
Fine. How are you?

Good. We're both fine. Nothing new going on around here.
*long pause*
So......what's up?
Oh, nothing.
*long pause*
Yeah, um....nothing up here, either... . Was there something I could do for you?
No.
*long pause*
Oh. Um...did you want to speak to (hubby)?
OK.

Then I hand the phone over to him and he goes through the exact same thing, and then just as he's about to hang up, they finally get around to asking whatever it is they wanted in the first place.

Who was the jackass who decided to remove the more practical/common sense way to find wireless connections? That was the DUMBEST Windows 8 idea I've ever seen. Was just trying to do something basic so I could go on and delete Wild Tangent.
Ahh, The Windows Store and Wild Tangent, blatant attempts to "monetize" Windows 8. But your problem seeing Network & Internet connections is they're in Control Panel and Control Panel is in Windows Explorer. But in Windows Explorer you can't see Control Panel whenever you have any other folder selected besides "This PC". To see it, click on "This PC" on the left side, then choose Control Panel when it appears at top.

Stress and or lack of sleep for a while now, I have plenty of Neurofen around as it tends to be the only thing that helps.

(IBS) irritable bowel syndrome

I'd like to rant more about it but I seriously need to go for a poo

^ I've been there. Better now mostly, but I still usually have to start taking Immodium before I get on a plane or go on a long car trip so I don't have problems.

Re: aaargh!!

Where offices have umpteen variations of ''Warning: Door Swings Out?'' It's getting worse exponentially.
The company I work for is getting really bad with that, spending a lot of money on stuff like that basically so they can avoid health insurance payments. I'd understand for truly hazardous things, but they've put caution stencils all over the sidewalks and at every single little step up or down, as well as signs on doors, stairwells, radar enforced speed limit signs, dozens of new speedbumps, etc. They've also mandated software on all computers that tell you to get up or stretch every so often, and it can potentially lock you out until "break time" is up. It's really gotten ridiculous.
Good Lord, what's next? Are the computers going to tell employees when to pee? Or when it's time for an afternoon nap, since it seems your company is bent on treating its workers like kindergarteners.

Well, you know you can buy packets of peanuts with the warning "MAY CONTAIN PEANUTS" (not making that up, BTW) so I think we may have finally tipped over the edge.

(And yes, I am well aware of the existence of peanut allergies and how serious it is. But come on...on a fucking packet of peanuts, they need a warning like that? :brickwall: )

^and the windshield covers you put up in your car in the summer have a tag that says, "Remove before driving vehicle."

We have become a nation of litigious morons.

Yep. And don't forget Windows Word. Had to switch from it due to that 'monitization'.

Cool. Thanks.

Found out how to reset the connection via just running the troubleshooter. It fixed whatever was wrong and I was good to go there.

I'm glad that Windows 10 supposedly isn't going the bs route in regards to set up. Hopefully it'll be more user friendly.

I just got a new computer. The paint program is missing my favorite tools, and it doesn't have my Space Cadet pinball table either.

CCC.

I changed my diet for about four months and removed junk food, chocolate etc and started eating tons of fruit and veg. It made a massive difference but then I fell off the horse and returned to eating crap (crap tastes so good)

Hope everything comes out OK ;)

....I'm sorry....I'm sooo sorry

It comes out OK about twice a week (the rest of the time, it comes out like the alien from john Hurt's chest)

In terms of chest distress it's my blasted skipping heartbeat. I have lisinopril and verapramil for it though.

Ouch :( my stress flutters/arythmia haven't needed medication intervention yet. Do you feel them each time or just at certain intervals?

Ask someone how far away a store or town is, and they say twenty minutes. So you still don't know the distance in miles. If you don't have a car, "twenty minutes" tells you nothing.

A twenty minute walk for me is about a mile, maybe a mile and half at a reasonable clip.
