Things that frustrate us all

As for making credit card payments? It's not exactly rocket science. Keep track of what you've bought (which, with any decent bank, should be easy to do via their website or mobile app), and when the statement closes, you pay off the balance. Easy peasy.
Not in my experience.

^ You're not worried about hackers getting ahold of your debit card?
I have had easier time cancelling my debit and still have access to my money than with my credit cards.

As it stands, I've been screwed over too many times to want more credit cards. F them and their business practices.

I don't mind the occasional swear word or two when talking, but when you're dropping off your car and every other word out of your mouth is "F*ck", that's when I get annoyed. I get that you're frustrated/angry with the situation, but vulgarity when there are other customers in the lobby, read the room.

I blame a lack of education. Well-educated people generally know a lot more swear words.

As much as my job makes me want to curse, I've developed the habit of cursing in a wholesome manner, so I can do it in front of customers. Things like "Gosh darn it!" or (my dad loves this phrase) "Dang Sam!"

If they do that, they can drain your bank account. You would be left with NOTHING. With a credit card, you can dispute the charges, and you're not out any money.
If people got my information I'd be screwed either way so I don't see what the difference is. And at this point there's enough people using debit, I'm sure the banks have way to deal with that situation if it happens.

Sure, but I find it easier to just pay directly with debit and not have to worry about the extra step of dealing with the credit card payments.

I've been the victim of minor financial fraud just twice in the last 25 years, and both times it involved paper checks that I put in the mail.

If hackers get ahold of your credit card, they can post unauthorized charges, but you can still dispute them. And while you're disputing them, those charges effectively do not exist. You're not out any money. Not one red cent has left your actual bank account.

If, OTOH, they get ahold of your debit card, they can actually take your money. They can drain your checking account. Your money is GONE. You are BROKE. You can probably dispute those charges too, but while you're doing it, your money is not there. It could take days or even weeks to get your money back. And while this is going on, you could get hit with overdraft fees.

Had more luck with the credit unions (two now) than with the credit card companies.

Mom calls me last night to tell me that my stepsister has been admitted to the hospital because of an allergic reaction to her arthritis medication and has been put on oxygen. On my way to the hospital to meet up with Mom and Wink and BAM! T-boned a car in an intersection on my way to the hospital. 30+ years without a speeding ticket or an accident. F*ck!

I am so sorry :(

I'm so sorry, I really am! But reading these two messages of yours in quick succession, especially that last word, made me laugh!

I'm really sorry to hear that, @DarrenTR1970. I hope your stepsister is OK, and that no one was hurt in the accident.

Eep! I hope you're okay!

What's frustrating is sitting around in a hospital not being able to do anything while my stepsister is in the other room unconscious, fighting for her life while the doctors try and save her, but her lungs are filling with fluid faster than they can be drained and her organs are starting to shut down. She just turned fifty. She's four years younger than I am. This isn't supposed to happen.

Was waiting at a light. Two senior citizens were waiting to cross but the don't walk sign never changed for them. They realized their turn had passed them by when the light changed and vehicles waiting to turn left started turning left, so what did they do? Crossed the street at that moment! And they weren't spring chickens.

I'm in danger either way, and I'd still rather just use a debit card than have to deal with credit card payments.

Yikes, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope everything turns out OK.
