Procedural memory codes much differently than rote memory.I have a weird memory in that way. I can usually go to an address once with help from Google Maps, then, for some reason, it's imprinted in my memory and I can drive to that same address without the aid of Maps; weeks, even months later. At the same time, I can also figure out alternative routes if the primary one is blocked or closed.
