Thanks for the link, sojourner. Over here there hasn't been anything in the news about the pipeline spill. I hope there is no massive environmental damage, particularly no poisoning of ground water.
It's propably little comfort to my American friends but in my area the regular price for a gallon of Diesel (which is the cheapest fuel over here) is about $5.50; during the vacation and holiday season it's much more expensive.

frankly, I prefer apples over apps. Ideally in a pie with plenty of lemon rind, and a hint of cardamom and ginger =)

On the other hand, it doesn't appear to be an argh-day for most of us, so that's a nice change.
My current argh-moment has nothing to do with any spice (whether girlish or not) but everything with the fact that it's 6:51 am and I must go to work now. I love my job but today will all be boring paperwork

When I am in a hurry, get in my car, drive for a few minutes and only then realize that I left an important paper on my desk.
Happened to me today, fortunately the person I was to meet was late, (more late than I was that is).

My french lessons I have been taking online. While I can do fairly well if given a quiz, were you to ask me to create a complex sentence out of thin air, my mind goes blank. Il est difficile d'apprendre.
You only need to practice to make it better. Maybe you should register in a French forum, it would give you plenty of opportunities to improve your prose.

I normally find that traffic seems to be worse when you need to get somewhere by a specific time.
