Things that frustrate us all

Yep. I don't mind them, but honestly... the change wasn't needed.

Wish they'd do that with Hershey's chocolate. That stuff is horrible.
Am pretty sure the bare minimum of cocoa is used to still be considered “ chocolate” it’s like eating wax shavings from a candle.

Unfortunately, I'm much more a fan of Nestle chocolate than Hersey.

If I could have real Cadbury chocolate here, that would be ideal. The American version of Cadbury chocolate is a bit different and I've heard many Brits complain about it.

I’ve grown to like dark chocolate over time; I swear if Snickers ever did dark chocolate in the States I’d weigh 300 pounds. Guess it’s good they don’t.

I've never developed a taste for dark chocolate. Kinda wish I had, but I really, really don't like it.

I have the palate of an 8- to 12-year-old.

I prefer dark chocolate, but I don’t have it very often. My favourite chocolate though is probably Cadbury’s Old Jamaican, rum and raisen, delicious. I don’t know if they still sell them.

Everything we eat, with rare exceptions, contains small doses of poison that will make us degenerate and die sooner than we thought. That's the consequence of today's policies of importing anything from anywhere without regard for health concerns.
Literally everything in the universe is chemicals, and ALL of them are toxic, at the right dose.

Some chemicals manage to be both toxic AND essential for health.

For example, lots of people worry about (an extremely tiny amount of) formaldehyde in vaccines. Because formaldehyde is toxic. But... it's also something that your body produces large amounts (relatively speaking) of, as a byproduct of protein synthesis. The only way NOT to have formaldehyde in your body is to have been dead for some time.

Some chemicals, not consuming enough of them will kill you, AND consuming too much of them will kill you. (See: Salt, sugar, water.)

That's the consequence of not having slept through Chemistry class.

There are some businesses that import British chocolate. Do you have Cost Plus in your area?

I haven't heard of Cost Plus. I'll look to see if there is one.

I used to go to places like Jolly Grub and even Amazon, sometimes. I don't do that often, though, because imported food tends to be very, very expensive.

For Jelly Babies, I've settled for Gustaf's on Amazon. They're a little different than Bassett's, but they're acceptable.

It would be NICE if people who send me a list of faculty members to whom they want a time-sensitive mass-email survey sent would actually vet the email addresses beforehand to make sure that they are legitimate (and still working for the university) and contain no typos, so I don't end up having to send the same email four times.

I'll stick to my British chocolate then.

Haven't seen that variety in years, a quick google search turned up no results for it in the UK only imported from Australia.

I rarely have dark chocolate, just the odd bit every now and then as I prefer milk chocolate when I have chocolate. I have to be in the mood for chocolate, the ones I have to avoid are the more old fashioned boiled type sweets that I grew up with when you bought them by the 1/4lb. I have to avoid the sites that sell them.

I'll take your word for it as eating wax shavings isn't something I've tried.;)

I swear to whatever god might be out there, the next time someone hands in a paper for me to edit that is basically German translated into "Denglish" (Deutsch plus English) via Google, I will just go get drunk. :ack:

Alternatively, I will accept gifts in the form of a crystal ball (for the purpose of divination) or maybe a Denglish-English thesaurus.

What people like to bullshit others with.

Saw a rental ad that said the place was fully furnished. LOL, not quite.

What the place comes with is random stuff, like open food boxes and used soap bottles, that some person who abandoned it or was evicted, left behind.

When I was over in Pennsylvania, I tried one of the US Chocolate Oranges that I got. I definitely prefer the UK ones.

...Aaaaand back to my couch. Woke up a few times in the middle of the night, too. Should've expected that.

I can't afford a mattress, much less the materials to make my bedframe. If I could, I would at least have some privacy every once in a while.

Are you implying that I have? I'll have you know that I have a degree in chemistry and poisons like the glyphosate have deleterious effects on human physiology and these effects are cumulative.

Return it. Glyphosate is less toxic than table salt.

When I was signing up for heating oil delivery, they did a credit check, which said there was “Not enough activity”.

I looked up my score and nothing had changed. I googled to see what that meant, and it looks like it is because last month I paid off my balance a day before the pay interval and thus had zero required payment that month.

Because of that “Not enough activity” I got stuck paying more because I couldn’t get the intro offer.

Does that strike anyone else as INCREDIBLY DUMB? Being penalized for being too responsible.
