Things that frustrate us all

That reminds me of Scotty's line: "If my grandmother had wheels she'd be a bus."

Well, he said "wagon"... but close enough.

my granny used to say: "if my aunt had four wheels and be painted yellow she'd be a mailcoach". I suspect Scotty's writer and my granny hailed from the same area.

When you hope the next bus will be 8 minutes late but it isn’t and the next bus is half an hour away and turns out to be 12 minutes late.
And have you noticed that buses are always late when you're in a hurry and on time by the second when you happen to be a little late yourself?
Why do things always look much better on a photo than in reality after they've been delivered?

What really annoys me is hitting the capslock button without noticing it and only discovering it 10 lines further down and having to retype everything. (I can't type without looking)

got out of the shower, was pulling a shirt over my head and my thumbnail somehow got hooked onto my chin and now I have a laceration on my face that looks like it came from a machete (I exaggerate, but still :scream:)

Falling sound asleep for hours on end while trying to read this forum.

Cant you guys sing or dance, fire a gun over my head? Something?

When you are planning to bid on a rare item on ebay but somebody else places a bid first and the seller accepts the first bid and ends the auction a day and a half early.

Why do you think are they picking on you?
I typed a good long cathartic reply, but I don’t want to air my grievances here, not in detail, nice as it is to moan. I’ve already approached HR, and I keep a journal, but it would destroy anotherwise amicable working relationship to kick up a fuss. This individual defends their poor decisions to their detriment, and they will be their own undoing, but there is nothing to be gained from speaking up.

What has changed though, is that, while I need to get on with the job for the pay, I don’t need to stay in that job. I have let opportunities pass because I wasn’t in a position to take them. Now I am.

Sounds great!:)

most certainly no guns - I'm a pacifist. But I could sing a bit, if you like. What's your favourite song?

I haven't used ebay in years but it used to be against the rules to end an auction prematurely. You could complain with ebay and insist in the auction to be restarted.

Frustrating for me today: I can walk again without feeling dizzy and thought that finally this inner ear prob had solved itself. - Only to discover that I get extremely dizzy if I bend down and pick something up. I guess that's the next thing I have to practize (the doc says only training can restore my sense of equilibrium). Ah well, I guess I'll make the best of it and train picking things up by tidying my appartment.

Now sellers have the option of accepting a bid even if it's not time for the auction to end yet.

Thanks, Kor! I didn't know that.

RandyS, I have to admit I've never heard of Dan Fogelberg. Just listening to a few of his songs on yt to mend this gap in my education. Not bad at all :)

"Longer Than?" The omnipresent wedding song?
"Same Old Lang Syne?" Mid-life crisis holiday song?
"Run for the Roses?"
"Leader of the Band?"
From the mid-70s to the mid '80s, he was EVERYWHERE.

"Longer Than" was probably his biggest hit. ('79/80)
