Except the knocking in this episode is in sequences of three. Except the final sequence, which is seven knocks.Seems pretty clear to me, with the intentional or not call back to "He will knock four times" moment (even if that wasn't The Master).

Oh, I know. I referenced that inconsistency in my review.Except the knocking in this episode is in sequences of three. Except the final sequence, which is seven knocks.
I'm sort of disappointed they didn't save this title for an Ice Warrior episode.
That was good - I'm sold on Bill now, after she did that Sarah Jane-ish sticking her tongue out at him. Nice speech he gave, much more natural than the usual Moffat monologue
One thing that surprised me about the episode: The depiction of a child's death. We don't see the actual death, but seeing the child being sucked into the ice can be rather shocking for some people.
Did Bill end the Empire, creating the alt timeline she calls home where Britain whithers into nearly nothing by the early 21st century, instead of colonizing the moon in the 1920s?
There is a way this story could have been made more morally difficult.
The poll mean was 2.95, which gives it -0.85 compared to Series 9.
Certainly a logically expectation, as already talked about. You did see them in the trailer and they appear in the episode "The Empress of Mars."I thought I saw an Ice Warrior in some previews--this was the one I thought the Ice Warrior would appear
I thought the same thing for more ore less the same reason. I figured Sarah Dollard was going to walk back the violence (at least against the child) for the sake of people like Mary Whitehouse. Although that did end up happening in another episode... :-\This fooled me into thinking we'd see the kid again--what with the Doctor all but asking to be eaten. As if some folks were in the maw of the creature as Pinocchio was swallowed by Monstro--perhaps inspiring that tale.
Are the same amount of people voting now as they did 18 months ago?
There were sixty-two votes cast on this thread. There were seventy-three votes on Before the Flood.
It's still open now. I assumed the role of thread-starter for The Return of Doctor Mysterio onwards. The earlier ones are not under my control. And was the poll open for just a week?
It's still open now.
Yeah, because you start the threads two days in advance.
And is it really necessary to close the poll after a week? Not everyone is going to see the episodes right away. When I was in the Navy, I didn't see some episodes until weeks or months later and I know I would've been annoyed if I wasn't able to vote because of some artificial poll closure.
