These Haunted Seas and Myriad Universes

What people aren't thinking about is what the next volume may look like. This might be just half of the picture. This one has all of these "ghosts" and the station. The next one might have the Defiant and the "real" cast.

Who was the actress or person picked for Ruriko?

I think it's a different pose of the same model who posed for the Prynn Tenmei shot used on the cover of the "Mission: Gamma" tetratych.

I think all our friends who feel the DS9 cover represents some kind of misrepresentation need to change their avatars to actual pictures of themselves.

The title is "These Haunted Seas", so ghostly images of the dearly departed seems totally logical to me.
Of course, there's no reason to particularly think of them as "ghostly"; at first glance, and second, and third, and pretty much every glance until you read the forum thread, they just look like your typical floating-heads-in-space that adorn many a cover.

I think the rest of the forum would rather I not. :p

You may or may not be saying that in jest.. but, the difference with that analogy is that one's avatar is very likely to represent at least an aspect about the person. Where as with the cover, while yes, parts of it represent the books within, other very prominent parts do not.

Another problem with that idea is that avatars are not meant to represent the actual person (although some use them that way) they are made as a facade for a person, where as book covers usually are meant to represent the book in question. I mean if that's not the case then why not make Star Trek Covers with Spongebob Square pants on the cover where he's standing in space? Is the simple fact that he'd be in space make it relevant enough to be a viable cover even if Spongebob him(it?)self isn't in the book?

Will the Myriad universe deal TOS? Or just the spin off series since no TOS books are been released next year.

Wow! I really like the cover! I probably won't buy the book, as I've got the individual novels already, but the cover is very very striking.

Must. Not. Buy. What. I. Already. Have ...

(Or if I do.... Don't. Tell. My. Wife...

All five TV series will be represented in some form or other in MyrU.

^ It's possible there'll be references to them, but the focus is going to be on "the big five," as it were....

Thanks for the new updates about the new Haunted seas coverand with the Myriad universe books. I'm glad all five series will be dealt and looking forward to seeing future updates about these books. :bolian: :vulcan:I'm really curious about the what kinds of stories that will be told in the Myr u series. It keeps you guessing when they'll take place during the different seasons from the 5 Different Star Trek series.

^ It hasn't actually been said that the stories will be taking place during the broadcast seasons, although some episodes would make logical branching off points for divergeant realities. I hope there will be at least one story that tracks the divergeance over a broad scale of time and space (à la "Sorrows of Empire"), and it's possible one or more universes might be so different from our received continuity that trying to create an analogue to what's been televised would be futile.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

I had thought that it was that it would be branching off from the events of the shows. Like what if Picard hadn't been rescued from the Borg or other things like that.

^^ Some of them might. But some of them might also say things like "What if WWII didn't happen" (or if it turned out differently) that would very vastly impact the future of things from that point forward.

I don't believe anyone involved has ever stated specifically what pattern the stories will follow. The notion you have is what we fans have speculated them to be.

Was it? I could have sworn I heard that officially, but then again I have no memory skills whatsover, so there is a very good chance I'm remembering wrong.
