"There's No Such Thing As Macra..." Well, Now There is!

Isn't there a better story they could do?

This and "The Highlanders" are the only fully-missing Troughton serials remaining, and I guess they assume there's less interest in pure historicals.

Though at this point, what I'd kind of love for them to do is a "Marco Polo" remake starring David Bradley and the Adventure In Time and Space cast and filmed on location in China.

The animation team have said that all the complex tartan costumes in The Highlanders would make it a complex, expensive, budgetary-prohibitive animation.
The SF stories tend to have a lot of consistent outfits/uniforms.

Interesting... fan opinion usually counts Fury as one of the lost greats. Like Tomb before it was found.
Yeah, I've heard that before, which makes me think I watched a really poor reconstruction. I know there were a handful of them that were really bad (audio, telesnaps, etc.) and definitely marred the experience for me. Plus, it was more than a decade ago when I watched them.

Other than the first appearance of the Sonic screwdriver, why would they choose this serial over The Highlanders?

Some-one mentioned up thread that animating all the kilts etc wouldn't be economically viable for the release.

Maybe it could be viable if they did it as a motion comic instead of full animation.

So its possible we'll be getting the rest of Troughton's run in animation? Cause that'd be great, as I would love to one day view all his stories in marathon-like way. One day..

I don't get why they're animating episodes 1 & 3 when they exist in live-action form. Why not just animate the missing ones? Is it that important to do it in color?
