Spoilers There will never be Ferengi in DISCO

Meh. That was a terrible example, even by TOS standards. ENT Andorians were less interesting. TOS were top notch, under-utilized even in the films. Probably one of the best designs from TOS, aside from the Horta and Excalbian..
If i were in charge of the makeup people, for the TOS variants I would instruct them to 3D print replicas of the TOS antennae and realistically texture them. That way they can look realistic and still have the exact same shape. And I'd have them do the same for TOS Tellarites

Oof...no to the Tellarites. That make up design was absolutely awful. And I doubt they have the molds for the TOS antennae to replicate.

Um, no they didn't.

The background andorians in DSC and the andorians in Picard had no ENT Style ridges. They were closer to TOS, just antenne, makeup and white hair.
And only because they were in the background was such undetailed makeup used.

. Id like to see some TNG Klingons. And yes I'd like to see all designs of species who were retconned. That means bring on the Red Cardassians, Bajorans with brow ridges, Andorians without eyebrow spikes, Andorians with clunky antennae, Andorians with striped long antennae, TOS and ENT Tellarites, TVH Tellarites, TUC Tellarites, TMP spinehead Klingons, Masked Coridanites, Bolians that look like Captain Rixx, and Trill with Y shaped forehead ridges alongside the newer versions

Very much this. Star Trek is and always has been annoyingly inconsistent. There is no reason why the TOS/ENT/PIC/DIS Andorians, or the TOS/TNG/DIS Klingons cannot exist in the same time period. If we have different racial and physical characteristics for humans, and still consider them one species, then that is the simple logical answer for the same with various alien species.

Besides, they have acknowledged it with Romulans in Picard not all looking the same, and of course the Vulcans of many skin colours..

Personally, I love how the Discovery Andorians look... it brings to mind some of the guide books/comics/fanon/etc depictions of Andorians with partial exoskeleton.

There's one possible exception to my preference of Disco Andorians, and that's Rhyn, because the makeup actually looks like a rubber mask and like he's been dipped in blue paint. Shukar looks much better.

I agree. Discovery Andorians are by far my favourite version of them-the Discovery reimagining of them was everything the Discovery reimagining of the Klingons should have been but wasnt. Distinct, obviously different but with clear and strong similarities with previous versions so as not to be too jarring.

Although personally i think the Discovery Klingons would have gotten a lot less flak if they just had hair from the start.

The Klingons with hair would have been fine. But, I'd take those Klingons over Berman era any day of the week.

It's in Star Trek's nature to reinvent the look of the universe. They've been doing that since *at least* TMP.

I like the Disco Andorians quite a bit.

The Klingons in TMP are the most ridiculous looking of them all, including Disco's.

Me too. We've seen Bajorans and cardassians in season 3 and got the 'ferengi zone' Easter egg on Vance's quadrant map. Season 4 will be the ferengi's time to shine. I hope they do something like portraying the Ferengi as having them fill the void of 'socialist paradise' left by the majority of the Federation.

I love it. Season Four, Captain Burnham, looking to make contact with distant worlds that never left the Federation but got cut off from HQ, makes contact with Karx, the Chairferengi of the Nagidium of the Supreme Board of Directors of the Union of Ferengi Socialist Republics. ;)
