Spoilers Theory: The "Villain" in Season 4 might be the Prime Directive

Could be, but i'm not sure about it. Iirc we never heard about if cultures that lost their warp capability fall under the PD.

Star Trek: Insurrection (I refuse to wrote STI lol) anyway the Ba'ku previously had warp drive but gave it up to "regress" to their more idealic lifestyle. Picard said the PD didn't apply in his report to the Admiral

I put the quotes there for a reason. Who knows what people will remember, especially the younger ones. Maybe they will remember having mommy and daddy home all the time fondly.

Most historical stories tend to cast a positive light on the past, but they could just as well show the bad to contrast how the present is better. Some things weren't bad, but I was thinking of bad things and don't have a concise way of saying " like nostalgia but for something that was mostly bad, but also formative re-examined in the future through sometimes rose and sometimes shit tinted glasses." I think we will see some stories about bad things that shaped people when they were younger like parents binging alcohol for months on end, pulling their hair out from Zoom fatigue, fighting over toilet paper and PS5s, anti maskers making the rare trips out awkward, people trying to take political advantage of it all and being utter shits. That kind of "nostalgia" and honestly with the way things have gone in the last decade or so, things might very well be much worse in 20 years.

Nah, barring exceptional events such as war or a new pandemic (or continuation of this one), things will be better in twenty years. But most people will say they aren’t, just as most people say that things were better in the 90s.
