Canonically, we already know that Klingons have a system of physiological redundancy called brak'lul, which involves a backup for most bodily functions, extra organs, extra heart chambers, extra ribs, etc. For a species that lives by battle and combat, this system would definitely be useful for survival.

This is just the first time they have specifically gone... there.

Klingon/Human crossbreeding requires genetic manipulation (as realistically should any interspecies crossbreeding.) K'Ehleyr says this in TNG.

Then I realised you meant Miral senior.

However, Bells and Tom make Mini Miral with no known intervention.

Don't be so sure. I thought it was obvious the shape of the skull is a prosthesis to hide the actress' hair without her having to shave it all off. But I've also theorized that going hairless is a cultural/religious choice of T'Kuvma's sect and now that L'Rell is in prison, we might see her hair start to grow out, in which case her makeup might change somewhat (the Worf Effect).
