Spoilers Theory on the Nature of the Klingons We've Seen

Canonically, we already know that Klingons have a system of physiological redundancy called brak'lul, which involves a backup for most bodily functions, extra organs, extra heart chambers, extra ribs, etc. For a species that lives by battle and combat, this system would definitely be useful for survival.

This is just the first time they have specifically gone... there. :barf:

I really wonder now how it was possible for Miral getting pregnant with B'Elanna if Klingon anatomy is so different to Humans.

Klingon/Human crossbreeding requires genetic manipulation (as realistically should any interspecies crossbreeding.) K'Ehleyr says this in TNG.

Phlox had quite a few crossbred descendants on E2, and he certainly didnt mind genetic manipulation. makes sense.

I find it hard to imagine that humans would even want to breed with these hideous and grotesque new Klingons at all. :barf2:

The T'Kuvma prequel comic has something interesting, minor spoiler, not story related

One of the Klingons has hair. On the back of the skull, not covering the ridges.

I read that without thinking hard enough and was about to ask you if you felt that was the only problem with that conception.
Then I realised you meant Miral senior.

And Dax has fertility treatment in Ds9.
However, Bells and Tom make Mini Miral with no known intervention.

L'Rell has an exceptionally elongated skull: http://www.treknews.net/2017/07/15/first-photo-mary-chieffo-klingon-lrell/

Even if she had hair like previous Klingons, there's no way you would miss that noggin.

Don't be so sure. I thought it was obvious the shape of the skull is a prosthesis to hide the actress' hair without her having to shave it all off. But I've also theorized that going hairless is a cultural/religious choice of T'Kuvma's sect and now that L'Rell is in prison, we might see her hair start to grow out, in which case her makeup might change somewhat (the Worf Effect).
