(The) Young Riders...

I remember loving it when it first aired, when I was 13 or so. It was one of the first shows I followed religiously.

Haven't seen it since, so I have no idea if it holds up.

I mean it does & it doesn't...to most people here...no...but it would if you liked it then...yes.

If that makes sense.

At the time I knew Josh Brolin from The Goonies, and I was really into Westerns. I mean, who wasn't at that age at that time what with Young Guns...which is a movie I feel still holds up and is still great. But I remember really liking Brolin in it.

Yeah the show is pretty solid...just like anything from that time period...some things will seem lame. I really liked it...watched more stuff on youtube to refresh my memory.

If you liked it then, you will like it now.

I love this show! I never watched it until I was in college (97-01). My roommate had all the episodes on VHS and we watched them to DEATH!

I watched it.I had to have been 13 or so.I have not seen it since it first aired.I liked it but I don't see myself watching it now

I liked it. It was fun and pretty well written, and had its more compelling episodes.
Teaspoon was cool, and the music was good.

Also, I have a thing for cowboys.

I think the concept would be interesting for TV if it was re-made now.

It was a cool show. Brolin was Wild Bill Hickock and Stephen Baldwin was Buffalo Bill Cody. In the later seasons a young Jesse James joined the cast (IIRC).

I think it was made to cash in on the success of the Young Guns film franchise. For some reason I have a fairly vivid recollection of the show. They used the Bad Company song "Bad Company" as Hickock's main theme.

When I saw the Admiral in ST: INS I immediately thought "Hey that's Teaspoon!" And any time I see Goodwin on Lost I immediately think "Hey that's the sheriff that left the show after a few seasons."

I liked it when it was on, then caught a few reruns from time to time. Not perfect, but as good as westerns were in the early nineties I suppose. There was a brief revival with Young Guns and Unforgiven and the guilty pleasure Bad Girls, but it never seemed to stick on television. The Magnificent Seven only lasted 2 years, as did Dead Man's Gun. I had a Dr. Quinn phase, dare I admit, but I don't think that is a true western.

Maybe westerns will be the next thing to come back now that Twilight has killed vampires?

Did the one kid here kill himself? Christopher Petit I think? Even if the YR was imperfect, it did spark some relatively talented people.
