The X-Files : Season X (Spoilers!)

That's how I like my Mulder, too.

Me too ;). Did you guys see the ratings for ep 5 (Babylon) yet? There's an S there, and it's a Carter ep. I'm thinking that they're trying to make up for being so implied, going off of the Were Monster clip and the rating in Babylon.

Thanks to everyone that posted the clips! My anticipation is now at fever-pitch levels.

Are you talking about "S" as in "sexual language/content" advisement?

Are you thinking Carter is throwing the shippers some gratification?;)

Yep. Strangely enough. Heck I didn't think he'd have the guts. Old man surprised me there. I'm partially going off the new ep 3 clip that leaked. It's a first for M & S. Something so blatant like that (at least for them).

Me too. I've long since given up caring about the overarching mythology and I'm not about to start again. Its just going to be another smokescreen anyway. Let's get on with Mulder and Scully encountering the monster of the week.

Those are my favorite. I love story arcs, but sometimes they can get a little overbearing. I'm a bit disappointed in the first episode because
I didn't want the government to be behind damn near everything instead of being in league with malevolent aliens.
Crap. I'll deal though. Might be weird to say but hearing the X-Files theme music really took me back and made me pretty emotional. I ended up going back and watching a few of the original episodes.

Darin Morgan did it again. He gave us a new classic.

I loved every single moment of this episode, from the opening tease with the Tyler Labine character returning, to the end with shout outs to poor Queequeg and Scully's immortality.

Absolutely brilliant.

That was great. Wondering from those that follow the show more closely, were the names on the headstones any kind of eastereggs?

Good episode. Both Duchovny and Anderson were much more at ease then the previous two episodes, and certainly since before the second movie. While I enjoyed the first two episodes, this felt more than just a nostalgic return to old friends. I liked that Mulder had a different perspective on the quests of his youth while still showing that he "wants to believe."

Another good one from Darin Morgan.

Kim Manners was a prolific X-Files director/producer who passed away a few years ago. His motto -- "Let's kick it in the ass" -- was engraved on the mock-up tombstone.

Jack Hardy was an AD on Millenium, Lone Gunmen, and the second X-Files movie.

As well as a long time director of Supernatural. That show also found nice ways to fit in Manners' "let's kick it in the ass" into dialogue as a tribute.

I still don't get why Scully isn't a believer after everything that happened.

But I do like how Mulder questioned everything and monsters and it turns out monsters really are real, and he knows that for certain... again.

Damn, that was funny. Definitely worth a good chuckle or two.

Nice to see "Sock" from Reaper as one of the stoners huffing paint in the woods.

Loved how the lizard-man was dressed like Kolchak, and the sweet Kim Manners tribute.

One thing I've noticed about this series revival is the effort they've put into incorporating modern elements and pop culture references - YouTube, social media, smartphones, none of which existed at the height of the series. Maybe the purpose is to reel in new and younger viewers who were not familiar with the original show.

Hilarious episode, though some parts were a bit forced. I always enjoyed the light-hearted ones in the past, like "Jose Chung's From Outer Space." Mulder's skepticism was almost unexpected, especially considering what he had seen in his long career at the Bureau investigating unexplained cases. Next week has a darker theme.

So far I've spotted two guest actors who appeared in previous episodes: Hiro Kanagawa and Alex Diakun. Thanks, IMDB. :)

I liked the silly tone of the episode at first, but it started to wear on me as the story progressed. Especially during the extended flashback sequences. I liked the idea that the "monster" was actually bitten by a man and that's why he transformed, and I also enjoyed the character arc they gave Mulder for this episode, but by the end it didn't feel like a satisfying whole to me.

I also didn't like how Scully seemed to disappear from the episode for most of the end.
