The Worst Episode #2

Looks as though SHADES OF GRAY is going to end up being the worst episode, when compared to Spocks Brain. In all honesty, you long time TREK fans, did you ever think any episode would take that award away from Spock's Brain? Not me.

Okay, another battle between two lower rung episodes. If you liked either one then I mean no offense. Also, I am using the episode synops from Treknation. So who ever wrote them deserves a thank you..so..THANK you..now..on with the battle..

Okay…TNG and DS9 square off here. Both episodes, IMO, were just awful and I will probably never watch them again for as long as I live; yes they are that bad.

From TNG we have the classic episode “Justice”. "Wesley Crusher is sentenced to death for accidentally violating alien law, forcing Picard to choose between obeying the noninterference directive and manipulating the culture to save his crewmember's life." Ummm, this episode could have come from TOS season three. It is utterly dumb, and is only watchable if you want to see the scantily clad women ‘jiggling’ about. It was around this time I started wondering if any one on this show could act at all. And just to be honest, I haven’t seen it since I first saw it. So, for all I know, it may have aged well over time; but I doubt it.

DS9’s first season had some real choice clunkers as well. My wife loves this episode, but then again, she’s out of her mind most the time anyway. The episode is called “Move Along Home.” "A race called the Waddi, which like games, lead the crew of Deep Space Nine on a complicated but ultimately harmless trip through a maze which Quark later makes plans to buy.” I had the misfortune of sitting through this one again about four months ago. It was as stupid as I remembered. Again, just like TNG’s Justice, I was beginning to wonder if ANYONE on this show had ever acted before. Watching some of these earlier episodes is like watching a bad bad bad B movie. And what was going on? Were they in another dimension? What technology was being used? Don’t even bother telling me, I don’t care. This episode stunk..

Someone asked why I don't include polls? I like polls, but sometimes they become lazy. Six zillion people will vote, and some offer reasons. Others don't. Here, with no polls, if you want to vote, you have to state your case...seems more, I don't know, Boston Legalish to me this way....

So…which is the WORST EPISODE….

“JUSTICE” (tng) vs “MOVE ALONG HOME” (ds9)

"Move Along Home" is worse. Benjamin Sisko and a game of "hopscotch" is something that I cannot quite reconcile in my mind.

Besides, I actually enjoy "Justice" for the eye candy, and for featuring that space platform that was controlling the populace on the planet below. Yeah, it ain't no "classic TV," but at least it was more watchable than DS9's similarly-themed "Let He Who Is Without Sin..." Now, that was a true stinker! :p

I am saving "Let He is Without Sin" for another time. Stay-tuned!!!

Justice is worse. I have a soft spot for Move Along Home, I die a little inside when I think about Justice.

I'm with you Alidar. The eye candy on Justice is pretty, well, jiggly. But other than that, it is hard to watch. The FX are so bad, one wonders if any advancement had been made since TOS's time.

MOVE ALONG HOME is pretty terrible too. But if I had a gun to my head, I'd probably pull the trigger if I had to watch Wesley fall on a plant again.

'Justice' by a fair bit. I have to wonder what my parents thought when they saw half naked people running around and engaging in sexually suggestive activities in a 6pm timeslot.

Move along home

Justice at least was watachable, no matter how bad it was.

Justice reminds me alot of "The Apple" which was an OK episode as well. That first season of TNG really ripped off alot of TOS plots.

Move Along Home isn't great, but it hardly deserves the over-blown reputation fans enjoy heaping onto it. I don't mind the episode.

Justice is bad even by the standards of what I consider to be the worst season of Star Trek.

I'm in total agreement. Justice is horrible and not even the oiled up ladies can save it.
Move Along Home is kind of silly, but you can tell that the cast had a great time filming the "Hopscotch" scene.

Boy, I was all set to vote for MOVE ALONG HOME as it is by far the most ridiculous episode of DS9.

However, I had blocked JUSTICE out of my mind and only remembered it when I read the description. And yeah, that episode sucked pretty hard. Would have been much better if Wesley had been executed.

It's tough, because MOVE ALONG HOME is the most embarrassing episode of my favorite TV show ever, and I wish it didn't exist. But JUSTICE is worse, if only because it was a missed opportunity to dispense with Wesley.
