The Wheel of Time - Season 3

The show lost me back in season 1 but others seemed to like it so it's all good. Is it any wonder that people tend to stay away from shows with long story arcs because they don't want to invest the time and see it cancelled mid storyline - again?

I know it's a business but is there a business at some point when shows are DOA because people don't invest anymore? All that's left is reality TV and simple sitcoms and that's boring.

Season 1 and 2 both got terrible reviews and no traction outside of a niche fan base. If it takes you 25 episodes for your show to get good, it just isn't good.

I don't disagree, unfortunately in the current TV landscape you can't afford to "figure out" the show over a season like you used to be able to.

However, Starbreaker was incorrect about both seasons getting terrible reviews--season 1's critical reviews were actually pretty good (81%) but audience reviews were 61% which is what really matters. But season 2 very well reviewed by both (86% and 81%), and deservedly so. Unfortunately the unevenness of season 1 did seem to kill any hype the show might have had, because I didn't hear much buzz around the much-improved second season. I did notice a lot more buzz around season 3, but sadly l guess it was too little, too late.

This behind the scenes and especially the short interviews sums up the core of the show and especially season 2 very nicely. Too many people got hung up over Joels death and Pascal having to leave the show and forget that it's not the Pedro Pascal show but a story they want to tell and explore.

I think you might have wanted to post that in the Wheel of Time thread ;)
