AMC+ needs TWD to exist. This is true. Whether or not its actually profitable yet is still unknown. And the Rick theatrical movies becoming a niche streaming mini-series is NOT a sign of progress for the franchise.

People love to gripe about cable ratings but every time they come out, TWD is the #1 scripted show for the week without fail. It's comfort TV for me. It's a far cry from it's peak, but I still watch.
I got a year of AMC+ for $22 around Christmas. They probably have deals all the time to show subscriber numbers to advertisers.

Honestly, I'll be surprised if that is indeed the case. Aside from the Fear the Walking Dead webisode tie-in miniseries about the submarine everything Walking Dead related has aired on AMC, and IIRC, the upcoming Daryl and Negan/Maggie spinoffs will be airing on AMC itself, so it would be odd if this Rick/Michonne miniseries were an AMC+ exclusive.
Also, I could be guilty of reading tea leaves here, but the poster image released for this miniseries has both the AMC and the AMC+ logo on it, which suggests to me it'll likely be available on both. If it were an AMC+ exclusive, I would think they'd just have that logo and not the one for regular AMC. But I could be wrong, and feel free to treat this as the baseless speculation it is.
Now what I could see happening is that each episode would be released on AMC+ a week before it airs on AMC, which is already the case with Walking Dead, Fear, and World Beyond. Or they could even release the entire season on AMC+ at once and air each episode on a weekly basis on AMC, which I've heard is the case for many AMC shows this year. Again, totally baseless speculation on which I could be wrong, but I personally think it's too early to throw in the towel and assume we need to switch to AMC+ in order to take part in the future of the Walking Dead franchise.
That would be awesome. Hoping it's true.

If the New York area in The Walking Dead is anything like Virginia and Georgia, Central Park should look freshly mowed and raked and sidewalks clear of debris
I think most of Yellowstone's audience is 50+, which is basically useless to advertisers.
Why? We generally have more money than millennials to buy shit with.
Because at this stage in our lives, the "new and shiny" things don't attract us, in general. Sure, there are many of us "genre fans" who spend serious money on collectables, but I gotta say that at 52, I'm looking more to downsize than expand my collections of things. There are always exceptions to the rule, but honestly, at this age, most of us are tighter in the fist than our younger, debt-prone counterparts.

Oh don't get me wrong. I do too. Interesting article here that talk about it and why advertisers may be missing the boat by not shilling things toward us other than ED supplements, step in bath tubs and COPD meds.
That is a fantastic article - really shows the ageism inherent in the marketing world. I particularly like the phrase "Focus on attitudes, not ages". I think that is a winning strategy but, sadly, as the article suggests, very few are doing that yet.
