The Villain Thread

That's good, I suppose. I gave up on Marvel in the middle of Civil War, and I was mostly gone by then anyway. I always found the Supremor to be a pretty unique and fascinating character in the heyday of Captain Marvel, under Englehart et al.

I have always enjoyed the villains of the Die Hard movies except for Die Hard 2.

Die Hard - Hans Gruber played by Alan Rickman, is easily one of my favorite top 10 villains of all time. His performance speaks for itself.

Die Hard 2 - There were 3 chief villains in the movie, General Ramon Esperanza, Colonel Stuart and Major Grant. The villainy screen time was divided between the three of them and hence their individual impact is limited. No villain stands out for me in Die Hard 2.

Die Hard with a Vengeance - Simon Peter Gruber played by Jeremy Irons was an excellent villain. He was smart, vengeful and slightly moralistic (he does not kill children) An Interesting villain.

Live Free or Die Hard - Timothy Olyphant as Thomas Gabriel was also one of my favorite. He was an educated and resourceful villain. He represents to me one of the new type of 21st century movie villain.

Gotta agree on Hans Gruber. Best action film villain in my lifetime, hands down.

some more of my favourite villains:
Dark Helmet
Syndrome
Stratler & Waldorf (ok, not exactly villains but certainly bullies)

we forgot one of the most popular supervillains! The Count!

He has the power to divide any number of people; his strength can only multiply in years to come...

Nicole Wallace from Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

I always envisioned that she and Goren would kill each other, but unfortunately...

She got killed off, OFFSCREEN, by Michael York. :brickwall:

Dr. Loveless is definitely one of the great all-time TV villains. The less said about the film version, though, the better.

Indeed, and Dunn and Phoebe singing together was a great use of their talents and made Loveless and Phoebe such a delightful pair of villains.

Talking About Mr Morden, I would also like to add Londo Mollari to the list as well. Mollari played the antagonist role several times in Babylon 5 and i loved Peter Jurasik acting. He was so fun to watch. He played a conflicted bad guy who in the ends redeems himself.

And of course we cannot forget the batshit crazy Emperor Cartagia.
