That's a cool looking ship. I like that you made those warp engine vents black. Harkens back to the TMP Enterprise.

I think the bussard collectors should be blue.

No, I am quite serious.
The Enterprise-B had blue bussards and I thought they looked better than the red bussards introduced in TNG.
You know, another very interesting possibility would be to encase the nacelles in ablative armor, like the highly protected warp engines on DS9's Defiant. That would give this ship an even more interesting look, while opening doors for it as a destroyer or battlecruiser, depending on its size.
I don't know if those have been confirmed to be collectors anywhere. This is a post-TNG design, so I'll be going with that color scheme.

True they never said "these are the bussards" on the Ent-B, but since all Starfleet vessels tend to have common elements, I think it's reasonable to presume those were in fact bussards.

It is, I just wanted a cleaner looking plaque. The early Enterprise plaques omitted the "USS"

Actually, I posted this on the first page, just to give you an idea of where I'm headed.
It has taken me a littler longer than I thought it would to get around to the orthos of the ship and to finish up the scene I had planned for my original sketch, but here's something I whipped up last night while it was fresh in my mind. Its the larger of the ship's support craft and perhaps the next generation of Federation runabout.

Dude, why are you not working for Star Trek? you're better at Trek ship design than anyone who's ever worked for Trek.

And just imagine a TOS shuttle/mini-starship design based on that Basilisk!
Back to the Valkyrie: that's what Voyager/Bellerophon (DS9's "Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges") should've looked like. The only ship in VOY that is competitive FC's ideas would be the Delta Flyer.
