Shouldn't the refit be in the movie forum??

The Tos Enterprise is an excellent design, despite being a product of the 60s, with it's cigar and saucer shaped predilections. The refit looked incredible when shot in STTMP, STII, and STIII, and any movie where they used stock shots. After that, I'm not a huge fan of how the model was lit or shot.

I always like comparison pictures, and this is one of my favorite. I wish I could find a similar one, but to scale.

I've always been partial to this image and have had this poster hanging in a frame for years. Even before that, my 7th grade teacher had this in the classroom.

I always loved these 'art deco' nacelles. I wish they did something similar with the inevitable JJ-prise redisegn.

I'm so glad they didn't.

Spaceships like women looked better in the sixties and seventies! :p

These pictures demonstrate well that the new Enterprise has basically the same configuration and form as the previous ships. Which basically makes fan whining about it amount to nostalgia.

There's nothing wrong with products of the 60s. Some of the greatest modern designs in architecture, furniture, cars and much more came from that time period. And that includes the original Enterprise, IMO.

This is true (although I love both the TOS and the TMP Enterprises, almost equally). Cars in the 1960s had a lot more character than many cars produced from 1980s, all the way until the early 2000s, particularly 1960s muscle cars. Give me a 1967 Pontiac GTO over anything Honda any day!
