The USFL is back? Why?

I see they rebranded Arlington as Dallas.

And moved to a new stadium. The Houston team is moving from the U of H stadium to a smaller stadium where the two Houston pro soccer leagues play. Houston has a team in the male and female pro leagues.

:guffaw:

“Due to stadium constraints, the available venues in these areas do not align with our new vision of focusing on smaller, more intimate settings that elevate the fan experience,” the UFL said in a statement regarding the decision to move on from Memphis, Michigan and San Antonio (via Ben Fischer of the Sports Business Journal).

Smaller venues are because they can’t sell tickets.

Houston Gamblers won't be doing much gambling in Texas because it's illegal. Except of course for the state run lottery.

Saw a UFL ad during the NFL game. They call it an experience like no other. I guess that's technically true, if you want to watch a QB completely out of sync with the WRs and unable to put up any meaningful numbers.

Maybe Geno Smith was a season-long ad for the UFL.

These lower level leagues are always giving tickets away but the majority go unused. I wonder if they're counting the free tickets as attendance. No sports league uses the turnstile to count attendance.

After week 1 Fox Sports page has the Gamblers power ranking in last place. In first place is Dallas who trashed our untalented butts so spectacularly Fox was impressed I guess.

UFL expanding to Oklahoma City and another city in 2028. They want to get to 16 teams in the next decade.

I heard somewhere that the numbers are across the board bad for the league.

Just way too much competition out there for minor league football.

So far this UFL season I've watched four games, some not all the way through. But from what I've seen the UFL seems to have a better product than last year. There's been a couple of good games to watch so far this season, including todays Baltimore/St. Louis game. Lot's of empty seats in the stands very noticeable on some of the games.

You know how there are all these free and pay sports streaming services no one's ever heard of but there's so much stuff on there? Like BallySports or Victory+. I just learned of one called Home Team Live and you can one Arena Football One games on there for free. But if you want to watch Aberdeen Minor Hockey or Edmonton District Soccer Association, that requires a subscription.
